Lost between google adwords and amazon

    Hi,

I am quite new to this and working with Google adwords to generate klicks on items at amazon.de (Germany).

Yesterday reports show at Google 393 Klicks for amazon items. My amazon report however only shows 48 clicks for the same period.
    (screenshots attached).

How can this happen? I thought a click at amazon is registered the moment the adword click reaches the amazon website. From then I thought the 24 hour cookie would be valid to book the purchase on my affiliate account.

But now it seems that 85 of the possible customers that my adword ads lead to amazon are never ever registered.

    Thanks ffor your help!!

They're both closed systems so you'll never get a straight answer because you'll never have the facts.

But, in essence, a lot of those clicks could be someone clicking twice by accident, or clicking and then not letting the page load.

You need a very high niche and targeted site with high profit to do well with Adwords and Amazon. Otherwise you're simply giving Amazon free ads.

too bad for the results, as always amazon reporting is always delayed maybe try it again 1-3 days if it will tally. Otherwise your wasting money on adwordds if you cannot convert those into sales.

I have noticed the same problem. One Adwords campaign has 120 clicks but Amazons report only shows 13 clicks. Too big of a difference.
I even created a link and an adwords campaign and clicked on that link and made a purchase from my own Amazon link but it did not show up in my Amazon reports. I read some notes in the Amazon Discussion board that the reports are not real time and seems as though they are manually generated. A notice gets published to let users know they are available.
I am thinking about contacting Amazon and asking why.

Good luck. Amazon seems confounded about this issue just as much as the users. Simply, reports take a while to generate. I think it's best just to know that and live with it and plan around it. It doesn't really change much.

For me, it's the other way round. I always see more clicks on Amazon reports than I see on Adwords.

I am BRAND NEW to amazon affiliate. Nothing up on my sites yet, but plan to launch this weekend.

What types of links are you using? Are they static ads? Specific products?

Is anyone using the API tools to generate context specific product recommendations for your users?

    Thx

I use static links opening directly the product site of the promoted item.

Thanks. Does anyone have experience with the dynamically generated product suggestions via Web Services?

In case anyone is interested, I have the Amazon API working to dynamically generate product suggestions from key words. If you are small time site, you're thinking "so what?" However, if you host a blog (as we do) or have a database of many many products, this is quite interesting as you can send the keywords from the blog or product database automatically to Amazon as the page loads and return product suggestions that are RELEVANT to what the user is seeing. If you'd like to see it in action, PM me and I will give you details.

I, too, have now started to see a huge difference in clicks between my Adwords and Amazon reports. Before, I would see more clicks in Amazon than in Adwords for a particular day. Now, it's the other way round.

Has anyone worked this problem out?

I realize that people can click on my adwords ads repeatedly; however, this does not explain how, previously, I would see more clicks in my Amazon reports than in my Adwords reports.

It's all getting very annoying, even worrying. If anyone knows what's going on, please respond.

Have you checked and re-checked your links? I know that I've loaded some AdWords ads and thought I had everything in order... only to find out later that I'd mislabeled my links. They still went through, but my associate ID wasn't tracked, so if there were sales, I didn't get the credit.

    Hi, guys,

I seem to have solved the problem with a simple move. All I done was refresh my destination URLs (i.e., delete them and put them back in). Now I almost always see the exact same clicks on Adwords and Amazon.
