Optimize for search engines? Remove id sessions. I suggest another software, like vbulletin. Or look for a mod rewrite hack for phpbb.

Work on improving the forum descriptions that you are using for each forum.
Also, your forum is about 3 major topics. All of which could be separte sites. Internet Marketing, Software Development and Tour & Travel

'm not sure how you'll optimize for each keyword. I suggest that you focus on Internet Marketing and Software Development.

Minstrel also gave me a few good tips. My forums can survive without VBSeo, but how can I get the trackback mod without it?:(

Try to invite as many members as you can. Post regularly in DP and inform DP members about your forum. You must use some marketing speech and make your forum most interesting and informative one. Your forum must be like DP informative and theme based.

I think DP must be your inspiring and you can take best idea out of it:)

Title, Meta tags and the onpage description of your forum should not be ignored.

    H1 tags

Footer and Header should be paid more attention to.

    - add a blog that attract people to learn about your topics and get valuable links,
    - write articles and submit them to articles directories,
    - forum posting, the most powerful tool and try to get your self a moderator in forum related to your business.
    - social bookmarking,
    - build lens to your forum,
    - try to promote your forum off online.
    - add content and sticky to your forums,
    - invite people and friends to post or hire people to post in your forums,

Sorry, I should have called it a feature or function. I havent used VBSeo, but from what I understand, you can use it to send trackbacks.

VBulletin just announced an official blog add-on which will have the trackback feature, so I'll use Zoints Seo and wait for their offical add-on.

Even if you don't use the vBSEO plugin to optimize your forum, it doesn't hurt to read on the vBulletin SEO general forums about tips, tricks and ideas on how to make a forum (in general) more SEO friendly.

Contrary to what many may say - lots of posts and active members doesn't necessarily mean a top spot in the SE. Of course you need posts to get anywhere (it's a forum - remember?) but if you don't follow several basic rules on organizing the forum itself - all those many posts may just not be indexed, end up in supplemental heaven and what not.
