I own this premium domain name called WWEPortal.com what do you think of it? It was just registered today Doesn't have any PR Doesn't have any website on it yet Hasn't made any money I intend to use it for making a WWE portal, as the name suggests. Please dont say "Trademark issues" because WWE doesn't care who uses the term in their domain since there are thousands of domains out there with WWE in them and it has never occured to the best of my knowledge that WWE has even sent any one of them an email IT
Just because there are heaps of websites out there that violate a TM, doesn't mean that they will never come after you. Probably won't if they haven't in the past, but it can always happen.
I requested it kindly enough and will do again, dont talk about the TM, take it that I have an NOC from the WWE, now hows the domain? IT
The domain name is a good one to develop a site with, but its not worth that much imo There aren't any trademark issues, they would encourage fansites, wwe reseller stores etc.
No overture and only 1,200,000 returns in Google = $20-25 if your lucky because it sounds pretty brandable to me.
I dont wanna sell it guys? Just tell me what do you think as a website that I am gonna develop, is it rememberable? Brandable? Marketable? SEOable? Friendly enough? IT
I think it is a great brandable name. I would personally write 2 eBooks on the WWE and sell a smaller one for $17with the next as an upsell of $37.
Brandable and marketable: maybe. Portal is an aged word in that it's had its heyday and is more or less on the decline as far as usage goes. It's not suffering from age and being out of style quite like "cyber" or "double click", but still, the word appeals more to us nerds who have been on the net for 10+ years and remember when it was an everyday word describing the likes of Go.com, InfoSeek.com, Yahoo.com, Excite.com, etc. There being no OVT or much Google for the phrase (507 for "WWE Portal"), the name is simply not good from a SE perspective. I think that portal is a bad word to pick too for a name meant to be purely brandable and not very SE friendly. Better would be something more exciting, like WWEPit.com or WWEZone.com or something. I'm too lazy to see if those are available or not, but something along those lines that people newer to the internet will vibe with better than portal. Good luck with it!
WWEPortal.com is good domain, it can be used for WWE site or forum, i think it should be worth $40 because this is nice brandable name. Good luck. Jay
Strong domain for development, clear and concise unlike many other wrestling site names out there. Easy to remember, relatively short, marketable and should be easy to create a brand from it - but obviously this is dependant on the work you put into it. Value on its own would probably be mid XX to a reseller, because some people simply will not look past the TM; however on that issue, unless its an address that the WWE 'need' either now or in the future (for example if it was Wrestlemania30.com or something); or it contains the name of one of their wrestlers; or if its misleading to visitors etc, they general do not tend to send out C+D letters or take any action. Value to an end-user, undeveloped, could be in the XXX range, developed depends on what you do with it, obviously
Hehe great idea, I'll write ebooks on WWE and try selling them off too, most probably on subjects like "How to get in the WWE", since people only buy books which are supposed to help them. Thanks for the idea! You are right about the word Portal, however what I believe is that the word "Portal" itself might sound too old but thats plus point since it'd look like some veteran or to say some "old school" person made the site. Appealed to me yeah just like it did to you and your lookout is right but I'll still give it a try. FYI btw WWEZone was too good of a domain to be available, WWEPit is available, but doesn't go too well with the site I am wanting to make. Reason I am sticking to WWE Portal is because it is very self explaining and not too long either. But still thanks for your high quality appraisal dude! Thanks. Thanks for the encouragement and yes I'm gonna put in a lot of work and efforts so yes there is no reason it shouldn't succeed. The WWE site is already a portal itself so I dont think they'll need WWEPortal.com any time soon, and thanks for pointing that out I'll make sure it doesn't mislead anywhere. Not even the Graphics. Thanks for the appraisal IT
Anyway, good luck. What WWE fan would not buy "How To Get In The WWE!" ? I don't know of any WWE sites that update daily. If you update it with unique content daily you should easily get to the top.
Sounds like quite a good domain name to me, Correctus. It is really up to you how brandable, marketable, SEOable, and friendly to the audience you can get it. Good luck! @BiGRob if you are interested in a good wwe name, let me know I might have one for you.
Words of Wisdom Clive, I just needed views from the neutral aspect, although its the best a name can be for a WWE Portal IT
