Linking means you are treating it as a souce of the info..that the way you should be writing anyways. Giving reference and citation is the best practice for writing any articles. you are doing it all right.
hey...i tink u posted this 1 on adsense official help forum?? too anyways i have the same Q..... look at this blog http://123flicks.blogspot.com this has links to all the hollywood movies copyrighted? isnt this wht we call warez?
Too many double not negatives here, but no, linking to it is not against TOS. However, grabbing it, like so many do, and claiming it is yours on your page IS.
Iv contacted them about youtube videos, etc before.... they told me unless I have permission from the COPYRIGHT HOLDER I should not place it on pages with adsense ads.
Do you mean even just a link or the practice of having the video appear on your page (even if it just has the "play code" on your page and you haven't copied the actual video)? I guess I wasn't thinking about media but rather just a text link to someone's material saying "check out what so-and-so has to say on the subject, as published in the American Journal of Feet" or something like that.
I gotcha, yes, I can see where that would be a problem/infringement of sorts. I was also having a memory lapse and for the life of me couldn't come up with the term "embed" when I was writing my post, too
Thats funny I have an entire site built around youtube videos with ads on every page. I even got an Adsense Optimization invite and they didn't seem to have a problem with it. In fact they encouraged me to put more ads on it.
lol im confused, lots of no's ant not's On what i've observed, G is not so concerned on copyrighted content, they focus 99% of their banning spree to sites generating invalid clicks. just my 2 cents
That's until someone contacts them about your site, linking to a youtube video you don't own. G will ban you straight away if/when this happens.
Can you please elaborate more about this banning issue? YouTube allows you to embed video on your blog and adsense will ban you?
I'm fairly certain you are allowed to embed videos (I do). When you upload a video to youtube you have an option to allow other people to embed your video or not. By allowing it, you give your permission.
With all the yes and no responses, I'd say it be best to contact G on each specific matter if you are planning to do it
guys, links to unauthorized content such as paid downloads and copyighted movies is illegal..without any doubt
yea sure look at youtube, google is in a lot of hot water (1 billion $$) with viacom over copyright right now
exactly. Just because people upload the videos and they provide a code to use on your site, doesn't mean you can with google adsense. Youtube, google video are protected by the DMCA, therefore they don't mind running the many music videos, bootleg movies and many other illegal items (until they get dinged... ie: viacom) You can use any video you want on a NON commercial site - As per googles TOS, if you don't have the legal right to use any material, you cannot in conjunction with their ads. It's very simple actually
