Are Sig Links from DP any good for PR?

Shall i just say.... I purchased some major links here in DP sigs, totalling to about 30,000 posts, i check the yahoo links and randomly out of no were im 30,000 links up... umm... Any ideas were they come from? My answer to this post is yes they help in building backlinks to a site, also advertising aswell. If its a service thats good for DP members, then its good to buy sig links.

 

I think if it relates to your website yes. I dont think if you build a manufacturing company website you should put links here. It will alter what the engines think of your site.

So do people just advertise selling their sig space on a monthly basis or ? I wasn't aware that was happening but it seems to be a good deal for the buyer and the seller.

Yeah your right, thing is about DP, there is alot of different sections, links could be releted to SEO, domains, search engines, web design ect.. The search engines propebly get very mixed ideas of what the site is about.As long as its withing them sort of catogrys i listed then its cool i suppose

 

hey I think that every forum is adding backlinks and it depends on popularity. I dont know yet how effective it is, though.

 

Sigs will give you both traffic from direct visit and PR boost from backlinks.

 

So I'm guessing that if you have a lot of backlinks from a forum only a handful are counted towards your PR?

 

DP is a source of traffic and good also to acquire backlinks.

Lucky i found this post, i almost started another thread asking the same question. Really good answers by the way

 

DP is good for getting your site indexed faster and traffic as well as providing some good backlinks, but as for pr, unless you can some how get a link from the homepage or some of the other high pr pages in the forum then you are pretty much out luck.

 

If the thread is PR0, still get PR benefit?

 

You get 2 things for your sig.
1 more links to your site.
2 people look at your site.
What else could you ask for.

 

I find adding links to my DP signature helps me get indexed faster.

A couple of threads i started in this forum (and still running) are PR 3 now...means definite help in increasing my PR...sorry, i mean increasing my links' PR!

 

Signature links are good but there is a risk of DP forums ranking high than your site for a particular keyword.
