I have given up on google

One of my sites has now been out for nearly 2 weeks even though the site is fully indexed. Its just the rankings have dissapeared but do get only about 20 uniques a day from them now for this site. If I got traffic for all the keywords, i would imagine getting between 500-700 a day. Its getting really frustrating. I have beenin in and out 5 times since the turn of the year.

Is it a new domain? 2 weeks is nothing in SEO. If it's a new domain, it's likely it's sandboxed.

    Two suggestions
    1) Patience
    2) Build only quality backlinks :)

    Good Luck.

Sites that don't have any natural links are dropping like flies at the moment. Did your site have natural links?

    Does the sandbox still exist?
I have a 4 months old domain that is ranking quite well. Yes, it has been promoted in a few places. Can I expect my rankings to drop just because it is a new domain name?

That's a business plan headed towards disaster. That would be like being a farmer, and saying, the sun hid behind clouds for the last two weeks, I give up on the sun.

Google is the king these days. It's head and shoulders above any other search engine. Ignore it, and you're giving up on 80% of your business. How is that a sound business decision?

    I fully agree.

    Google has grown very smart.

Try to get deeplinks and in-content links. Avoid selling sitewide links.

Yeah like said links will be the most important factor affecting your sites progress so do a check on that and do some active natural link building.

the sandbox is a really a myth

Its just that your domain might be new and it doesn't have trust. Also it takes some time for your links to mature.

Strong incoming links can have even a new site ranking well.

Plus what keyword is your site ranking for. It could be that your competition is weak.

Be patient and continue to get more quality backlinks. SEO is a continues process, if you give up it's your lost. Your competitor get higher position because they work hard for their site.
