Kontera is a contexual ads network, so I don't think placing it with adsense on same pages is allowed according to adsense's TOS... yet I see some bloggers doing so.... Am I wrong?
JarodBoy is correct.. The TOS has changed recently allowing you to use other contextual-based advertising on the same page as Adsense, as long is it does not have the same "look and feel" as your Adsense ads.
I have contacted KonteraSupport (a DP user), and he / she has confirmed that several Kontera users had contacted Adsense regarding the issue and have received an green signal from them. So its safe, Go ahead an earn some extra income
Glad to hear that! I'll give this Kontera a try, and if it performs well, I'll keep them.... do they pay well?
For me Kontera does not perform as well as Adsense, but it's close. It performs far better than any of the other non-adsense systems i've tried.
Great info. I took Tearabite's advice in another thread where he recommended Kontera I just integrated this into my website so I have no stats now but i'll report at the end of the month
Ok I got some stats back from Kontera. First day (Roughly only an hour worth of up time) 82 impressions - 1 click - $0.01 Now I just need set a goal for 10,000 impressions that would equal roughly $1.00 from Kontera
1,000 impressions and I'm up to $1.00 Kontera also mentioned to give the ads time to work their magic and display relevant ads I made a dollar off Kontera! some people here would laugh at my $1.00 but atleast I have SOMETHING to show for the work I put into it. Not to mention my Adsense check should be rolling around in a week or so, then I can use it to take my wife out to a nice dinner and show her the progress and the whole concept of why I run my PSP site. That sounded funny, anyway... But I'm still not making enough off Adsense to just sit back and enjoy the easy life so Adsense isn't my main job hehe I'm aiming for it though!
LOL! Nice Job MrJW ... I can already tell that Kontera is a good network... Perhaps the second best after adsense. One thing people should note is what really matters is traffic..... no matter what network you choose or where you place your ads (yeah some ad types and places convert better than others, but still) one can never make a good income out of them if they lack traffic....
i have both on my site. The CTR for Kontera was really low the ifrst few days. It started to pick up as i got more relevant ads...
Yes you can! Congrats on reaching that no. I haven't yet.. However, if you are a blogger who is selling affiliate products on their blogs, I believe all these network ads would be a problem. The reason is that they give the visitor a reason to click out of your blog. You don't get paid much from adsense, Kontera or other networks. On the other hand, If the visitor clicks on your affiliate product link, there is a good chance he/she'll buy that product. Just something to draw attention to. I think I'll be removing several of my unnecessary ads.
I am a the $7.00 point and counting, its only been six days Just yesterday I made $2.29 from Kontera alone
No. Kontera automatically detects keywords in the content and provides links to those keywords, with mouse over the ad display in a popup and when the user click the popup ad, you'll get paid..
