How reliable is xoom transfer?

 

As far as I know, many Indian DP members use Xoom transfer.
It is very reliable and faster then a "Cheque". You get the money with in 4-5 days in your bank account. Most of the time it takes around 2 days.
Just use Bank transfer and not Pick-Up Facility.

Why not Pick up Facility.R u sure Xoom Provides Pick up facility for india also.

 

Pick up facility is something which is considered illegal in India because the RBI has no track of the Money your recieving.
It is legal when the foreign currency first hits the bank. Thats why bank transfer is recommended.
And I guess Xoom refuses to give the Pick-Up facility to Indians now, but I am not sure about it.

My freind Kulwinder is damm right in all sense when he says that Pick-Up facility is illegal as RBI can't keep track of such transactions.
Also to avoid this Pick-up facility is not available to those Indians who use their own paypal account to fund Xoom transfer.

However if the money is sent to you from abroad then pick-up facility is available for Indians too.

Hope this clarifies the whole situation.

BTW: Xoom transfers are fairly reliable and in a worst case scenario if your transaction is not completed for any reasons then your money will be refunded.

yesterday i followed the arvind_srivastava instructions and transfered thru Xoom.com and i received my money within 8 hours of time. its really more fast and reilable.. Eventhough this is my first transaction.. So i little worried and i used the coupon code which one given by arvind. so i saved 8$ fees in my first transaction.. So Thanks to arvind_srivastava.. I like you so much and if you found any coupon code please share with me.. Thanks again

How reliable ????????
If you get your moneyin less than 4 days. What would you call that. Not only that it will deposited it in your account. Look at paypal it sends check which takes about its own sweet time and doens deliver on time EVER and then you have to wait for another day for it be credited ( minimum).

I call XOOM RELIABLE.

Pickup facility is ill-leaga for inter India transactions. The reasons are well explained by others. Only deposit to your bank account. I prefer HDFC as the first three numbers of the account is your bank code which Xoom always ask for. Dont be scared i got my money from Xoom onb several urgetn occasions.

Good for you. When i transfered for the first time i recieved a conformation call from London regarding the transaction and the custcare rep at HdFC told me for the first time it will take abnout 4 days and for the next time it will be win two days. That is excactly what happned with me. First time 4 days and next time no call but took two days time. That is the oinly expoerience i have so far about Xoom.

A lot of people use XOOM to send paypal money to India. So I think it is reliable enough. I used XOOM once and had no issues. I prefer icicibank money2india for better rate.

 

I have used many times , no problems so far except not getting better exchange

 

How are you gonna be an Remit2India affiliate?
Doesnt it work like Western Union? Only For NRIs?
