it could be possible.. from a advertiser's perspective, CPA programs are 1000% better coz they only pay for an action which can be sales or subscription or signups etc. Imagine if all advertisers start using CPA instead of CPC then its obvious that publishers dont have any other option left.. time will tell whos gonna trail!
No, it would depend on how successful the CPA is. There are rumours the two will run together. Of course, the big advertisers do not mind poaying by cpc because they can get a lot of exposure for their products at a very, very low cost. remeber, most internet users do nopt purchase right away. Also, the big player have the tools to track their cpc performance and they can teell rightaway if click fraud is happening. Perhaps will google will devise an anti-click fraud measure so good that they can keep cpc continuing.
Sorry to disagree but in the long run advertisers would love to see cpa than stick to hit and trial method with cpc. With cpa you can get numerous amount of clicks but would only be charged when a sale or a lead is made. This is evident by the success of all the cpa networks in a very short amount of time. And when you have a big empire like google venturing into such a lucrative market, a big revolution is bound to happen.
Hang on buddy don't lead to conclusions too soon. This would be good for publishers as well. Google needs a big network of publishers as well just like other affiliate networks. But now publishers would be paid for leads and sales instead of clicks. In the long term if you have quality traffic you will certainly earn more.
Studies has shown that people purchase long after doing their research. This means people might go to a site by clicking on an ad on a publisher site but purchase after direct type in or some other method that excludes the publisher being credited with the sale. Furthermore, research has shown advertisers do everything possible to try and excluse publisher being credited with the sale hence the poor performance of publishers using CPA netwroks with conversion rates of well below 1% in most cases.
Well the solution is cookies. Some companies have cookies which last forever. Therefore even when the customer goes to the merchant site directly the publisher still gets credit for that. Even with pay per click it comes down to sales. If sales or leads are not being generated on a publishers website than he or she is smart priced.
I think it could be possible that CPC be removed finally, however, I do believe they will co-exist for a long time. CPC is well established, CPA is new to Google yet having promising future. Time will tell finally.
Advertisers are willing to pay a bit more to get quick sales, Therefore if google cpa succeeds than "adsense would be officialy dead soon".
I have a question for you: How is google going to check if there has been a sale ?? Yes with cookies they can but how can they be sure if I dont remove their code/javascript/api that tracks the sale. I think only very large accounts can participate into their CPA program.
guys, i think, everyone can try to use PPA program (adsense or adwords). http://www.google.com/ads/adsense/referrals/index.html#utm_source=asblog03_20&utm_medium=blog --> adsense / publisher http://services.google.com/payperaction/ --> adwords/ advertisers. if anyone here has try to use this program, please share with us about your experinence.
PPA is like the firefox or adsense referral links, how many of you actually earn more from conversion links than normal ppc links? this is going to be terrible i hope ypn will open for international the day adsense becomes ppa
This might work in theory but doesn't in practice all the time. Also, I think for CPA to succeed, I think the must have in position a system where publishers still can be credited long after a visitor has a merchant from the poublisher's site. As it stands, too many merchants have very short qualifying period.
Cookies has been proven to be a great success in tracking sales. Also if you do a little research it would become evident to you about the success of pay per action. And all those so called guru's became millionaires only because of pay per action. People have had more success with affiliate marketing than adsense in the long run.
Don't hope too much. I am sure yahoo would be planning it's pay per action campaign as well. They need to survive the competition. Who would use pay per click if there are companies with pay per action.
Just look into how the affiliate networks like cj, shareasale, azoogle etc do it. They have been doing it since ages with no problems whatsoever.
So, what is the measurable/trackable "action" on an MFA site LOL The good thing about CPA would be the decline of so many of these sites using Adwords to get visitors to click on their Adsense. If CPC goes, I would think that there would be a major shifting in things.
