What do you think is going to happen with your directory when pr is no more?

    Since directory owners are very interested in getting a high pr -

    What would you do when Google decides not continue with pr. I think pr is over and there is something new coming in the near future. As with many other things the internet is changing very fast and before you know????:eek: "PR IS DEAD":eek:

    I'm sure directory owners will adapt to what ever that replaces it, they might be more into PS or Alexa or some other type of methods, besides the stablished directories don't really rely on PR alone. PR is basically for people who believe that having a high pr value is a strong directory, but we all know that there are many variables into what makes a strong directory and Pr is just one of them.

    when G stops using PR, then everybody else loses it, too. So I expect others also don't think of PR any more. That could naturally mean people won't buy a link for PR.

    PS could be used or alexa or something new instead. ;)

    Google won't discontinue PR. They'll keep it around long after they stop caring about it to keep webmasters from trying to discover their new secrets.

    If PR was no more, we would truly see which directory owners put the most efforts into their websites. The true "best" directories would shine among the others and still recognized by the general public as a reliable resource location.

    google without PR is just like msn. PR is the breakthrough of google, google won't get rid of it. They probably can stop showing it in the toolbar though. that would reduce link buying by 90%

    Well i started with 0 pr once , than i did not care about pr, now still i do not care about pr, and in future shall not care about the same, PR is for those who think having high pr makes their site better and sell few links, sites should not be built for pr , they should be built for your sake and keeping yourself busy instead of wasting time on watching horror movies or turning into criminals.

    So put it this way when i started my first website, i did not know what pr was and did not care about it either, and in the future will not care about pr either, its cause i did not build my websites for "monetary gains" i built them for " Knowledge only" i have learnt so much and still learning new things and thats what i care about, so if google gets rid of PR , it will not effect me much not sure about others though, cause everyone seems to be hung over "PR"

    There would be some alternative if google drops its PR. Infact the whole SEO industry needs to adopt new methods for getting top positions if google drops its PR concept.

    My directory will prevail nonetheless and continue to exist, because i enjoy what I do. I like to learn and experiment with new technologies and languages, so It will forever be an ongoing project.

    I don't think directories survive because of PR, I think it is a measuring tool. If google gets rid of it (which I don't see happening) it will just be replaced by something new (maybe a live or daily updating tool of some sort), the only people that will be effected (and should) are the ones that buy expired domains and sell links and listings to unsuspecting lay-persons.

    {edit}Got it now :p{/edit}

    Bluefind.org is PR2, A quality directory that I think. Bluefind link review charge is $50 to get listed. They are getting links for review regular basis.

    PR is not a measuring tool ;)

    I said it is 'a' measuring tool, not 'the' measuring tool. And I stick by that.

    It aint about PR it's about getting votes of confidence to websites and anchor text links.
