i see that you are back to your strategy. what is it with you and wars you seem to enjoy people dying and like to support any war. it is pretty much accepted that both iraq and vietnam was mistake and you still like to promote them.
GTech, So what happens if you like a 3rd party candidate or a particular Democrat better? Would you still vote for Mitt Romney if he was the presidential candidate?
I cant speak for the rest of the nation, but I'm voting for Barack Obama. He has been honest and has answered all of the questions the media has asked him. Hillary is too busy trying to win that shes forgotten about the youth of the nation. I would take a bullet in the head before I would vote for her (or another Bush) Thanks for nothing, George.. nothing but an endless war, high national debt, and high unemployment. (keep in mind that once you run out of unemployment, you're no longer tracked statistically.. so for those who try to say unemployment is 4.7%, keep telling yourself that... it makes you look stupid)
He sure has. http://www.economist.com/blogs/democracyinamerica/2007/03/thats_not_what_i_didnt_say.cfm
WHY Mitt Romney? Mostly because he's also Mormon and I trust his judgment and influence in our government. He's the governor of the most democratic state in the nation (almost: MA), he's against abortion in most cases, he supports a need for national security and is really one of few congressmen that actually does anything useful.
I can't see that happening. Like I've often said, when democrats realize that most real Americans have great concerns about national security and start conducting themselves like it's an important issue, they'll have a *much* better chance at gaining office again. As long as they continue down the path of surrender and retreat, that's not going to happen. As for third party candidates, that is an option, but a rare one. In our last Texas election, I voted for Kinky Friedman, who was an independent. It all boils down to the issues most important to "me," like with anyone else. I'm no different then you, pizzaboy or anyone else in this regard. I have issues that are important to me and issues I'm less concerned with.
Its intereting that you quote the unemployement rate...it is actually 4.6%, which is still fairly low considering when Clinton was in office it was as high as 7.5%....the economy is booming, the debt is being reduced (clinton never really did balance the budget, no matter what people have said)...the fed recorded record profits from taxes last year, and with the war going on, the economy has proved that it can still chug along (the dow was up over 150 today!!!)...see a chart below for past unemployment rates, courtesy of the us govt. http://www.bls.gov/cps/prev_yrs.htm
Okay. I just wanted to make sure GTech. If someone consistantly votes republican because they consistantly find candidates that come close to their own views I'm okay with it. I'm just not okay with people that consistantly vote x because they consistantly vote x because they consistantly vote x.
BTW. I have yet to see anyone post the actual numbers on what the national debt -was- at any given point for the Clinton or Bush administrations. I think finding those numbers is my next political project.
Nah, that wouldn't be me. I voted twice for Clinton. That was before I knew. Prior to 9/11, I didn't even know what a democrat, republican, liberal or conservative was. Mostly we had choices back then on domestic issues. Now that we see what happens when a Commander in Chief guts the military to try and reduce the deficit, paid no attention to terrorist threats and was too busy fending off his own shortcomings to take care of our country, I know better. I wasn't into politics in the least bit, back then, nor did I care. I always figured both parties had our best interests at hand when it came to "America." The day democrats, as a collective majority, not just a handful of the reasonable ones like Lieberman...start treating national security as a real issue and stop proposing defeatism as the best course of action, they'll go a long way with the American people.
Bad thinking.... it still has to be worked on. Maybe we should just claim bankruptcy and start again.
I say we stop adding new programs, tax until we're pulling in more than we're putting out in programs, and start putting that excess money to the debt.
I say we cut programs until we pulling in more than we're putting out in programs and start putting that excess money to the debt
Stop adding new programs. Start cutting pork - (now I see why certain groups are so against pork) Cut more entitlement programs slim line welfare - make food stamps only for food/necessities (not junk!) Cut spending in many areas that aren't necessary (don't care whether repub or dem started it) Don't add any new taxes! Problem with gov't, schools, etc... is they always overspend to make sure the next budget increases and not decreases - maybe have a reward system for under budget years as long as all services and jobs are done correctly. Sorry to those gov't entitlement folks - the rest of us have to work for a living - if you are not producing you are a parasite.
If you are keen on paying more taxes, no one stops you. You can pay more taxes than is required of you any time you want to. The government will gladly accept your checks. Because you are generous to uncle sam, don't assume I want to be.
