Both verified/unverified have no time differentiation.. Check wil come in indian rupees, you can withdraw when you have atleast 150$..
Deposit in ICICI and they will clear it ASAP Or the best: Deposit in Citibank and it will be cleared in 5 minutes. Stay away from SBI, once they displaced my check and I had to talk to the extremely RUDE bank manager 3 times, before they did something.

From what I understand, the checks are dropped in Rupees and drawn on an Indian Bank so it should behave like any other checks issued by an indian bank. If you let your account stay unverified, you probably will not see the money above the limit as it would be stucked with Paypal. Verify your account as soon as possible to raise any limits.
The check will be issued but why dont u get yourself verifie first. Paypal will charge $1.95 and when u withdraw the check it will deposit the same in your amount. so you dont loose anything. It took me 21 days for my check to arrive at my home in kolkata and it came in Indian Rupees Well my friend, you seems to have a tough time with SBI. Anyways i dont receomend it either. However dont set false expectationsd as well. CITIBANK will clear it by the end of business day. I wnt in the morning 11AM and they took my check but informed that after 5PM it will be cleared and it did clar. Hello Kulwinder, In HDFC its 24hrs. similar to CITIBANK. Its caled EOD processing cheques( End of Day processing ). I'mn quite experienced in these checks No no not 2-3 days unless you forget to sign on the back of the card or drop it into a ATM where the time period for a normal check to clear is 2 days iself. Guys i have done it many a tiomes and regularly get my check from paypal everymonth. Deposit it in the morning and it will be creditedat the end ofthe day. Verify your account ASAP. I agree with Sandrocks. Get a virtual card and verify your account. Also, I think most Indian private banks provide good service including ICICI, Citibank etc. However, I had faced some issues with HDFC bank to encash a check(the check was in USD).

It isn't essential Uttoransen that you will have to go through the same thing as Nc aditya did . Unless both of you happen to deal with the same branch and same branch manager
I deposit my cheques in uti tollygunj and it takes 2 days. previously the cheque use to come very fast within 10 days. Nowadays it takes 20 days. I used xoom this month and transfered to my uti bank account. My bank does not allow electronic transfer(I did not know that). So xoom delivered it by TPO. The xoom office at mumbai sent it through bluedart. Now xoom tells me that the payment has been made. Bluedart shows that it has delivered on 19th. My account on the other hand has not been credited. My bank says that they have now received anything. Now its already 10 days. So if you are using xoom be careful and send it to banks that can transfer electronically like HDFC ICICI . Lets see what happens tomorrow.

Same as all banks I guess. You need a passport or Driving License and Rashan card. Some banks dont allow cash transactions on the basis of a Driving license? I am not sure about the Introductory requirement as I was not asked for 1 in HDFC. If you donot have a passport you can issue a cheque from your other bank account. SBI clear my check with in one day I love that. and I am very rude with pay pal very slow to reach. its a one month and above. I love Xoom but its exchanging price are very low rather then pay pal.
