Removing link from Google

Discussion in 'Google' started by Fewski, Mar 20, 2007.

There are a few forums where I posted asking for help on my site, and I posted the URL. Now Google has indexed these sites, and now when I do a search the post comes up.

I edited the post to delete the link - but will Google delete the page from their search engine?

    Thanks

Why wouldn't you want these showing up? Wouldn't this create more backlinks for your site?

    Sorry, I am still learning.

Becasue google is chewing up gigabytes of bandwidth visiting these urls, and becuase the content is duplicated, so google may actually decide not to list the page at all.

Not to mention using an old SID could actually cause the phpbb script to error.

if you wish to remove the website itself from the google index you can fill up a remove from index form at google.com website.
to make sure the site isn't index there should be no incoming links to it from any other website on the web.
if it's just these specific links you're asking about - google rescans pages all the time, and eventuallry will scan the post you did again and see they have changed.

lmao think again, one of my hosting accounts got shut down for "abuse" because of googlebot's crawling of very large files.

    I doubt that as well

if you say host a series of 500 megs of files, google doesn't download those files 5000 times chewing up all your bandwidth

if you are worried about bandwidth dont host such huge files!

one of my biggest sites has thousands of free to download video game music Mp3s and I manage to survive on 70 gigs of bandwidth a month with over 8 million readers globally

Yes, Google will remove the link, but on their schedule, not yours...
