    Hi

what is the best way to proctect yourself from charge back? I sell stuff online and offer instand download and there is no way that i can provide all the tracking number that paypal need. Also sometime there buyer dont even give an address (which i think paypal should required )

Hey, if they don't pay with credit card and with funds from their paypal account you should be generally safe.
Make sure to not accept payments from nigeria or any of the foreign countries. and get to know the person before accepting payment and pay attention to their english!
rep me if this has helpped you please :D

I think nothing is there to protect you. Only to keep two paypal accounts might help you out. Get money in one and transfer them to another one or direct to bank account immediately (If you r not doing scam :p) and secure the money. And definitely MikeLeeProxy is quite right :) Direct CC payment can lead you in hell of CC chargeback which is un-recursable.

I don't think there is a 100% way to stop chargebacks with paypal.

I've had a few in my time & actually had one this week as well. Sometimes they're legit.

Like the one I had this week, looks like it may have been paid thru a stolen credit card number :-(

How do you know if its stolen credit card or not?

    Question:

when a customer pay through paypal is there anyway that we require them to enter billing address and shipping?

Yes, you can require them to enter a billing address and shipping address when you use the Merchant feature of your Premier/Business Paypal account. Create either a Buy Now button or an Email Invoice then they be required to enter those.

What I would do is to refund anyone who does not use a verified paypal account or one without any address. So far I have not faced any chargebacks.

File a small claims court application against them if they fail to pay and try to attack them through legal means. Usually it works if they're within US boundries.

Now that one was really good :)

A guy here on DP has suggested that you ask the person who paid you to file a claim and then cancel it with Paypal before you deliver the product to him, assuming that he can only do that once for a transaction within his account. Not sure how safe this method is but you can at least give it a test.

I've had quite a few French customers that made me speak French with them because their English was so poor. Yet, as customers they were fair. Also, how about the Germans and the others? I've met people that were hardly able to explain what they wanted, yet I had the patience to guess what their requirements were. And we did good business.

Guys believe me the best decision is

    NOT TO USE PAYPAL

switch to moneybookers.com and protect yourself against fraud which is common thing then using paypal ( it's horrible )

Nothing you can do - what are the grounds of the chargeback?

Contact Paypal and provide evidences that you have not cheated the other party and you did the right thing.

Why not back this statement up with a few more details on what has happened?

You have the customer's email address. Send them a confirmation/thank-you email after the download. This doesn't prove anything but it can help customer relations & reduce the rate of returns. At least you can say you sent a follow up email and never heard back that anything was amiss. If you can do anything after the download to get a response from them (a survey, a free bonus offer) that helps to confirm delivery.

I don't understand how Moneybookers can say no refunds. If someone pays with a credit card and then does a chargeback - MoneyBookers cannot refuse without violating their merchant account agreement.

Moneybookers is not an option for many sites. With PayPal a customer can just click the Buy Now button and pay with a credit card without signing up for a PayPal account. I would lose customers if I made them sign up and go thru the long MB verification process before they could pay.
