I think it's good because potentially you can reach thousands of people and expose them to your site. It has the same effect as a multi-level marketing program in that as more and more people sign up, more and more people visit your site in order to access a code. The point is your site gets nice exposure.

 

And, I'm not sure what the problem is with posting the affiliate link to get the ball rolling.
