I have a doubt about link Exchange

    If I got a link exchange request from one website. but this website is not related to my website. But that website is having a separate page for link exchange.In that page one category is thr related my website.Its PR also good.. Is it helpful for me?

    As long as the page is related it should be fine.
    Whenever i submit my website to a directory, i always make sure that the page with my link is related in some way.
    This has had a good reaction to my google ratings.

    Correct me if I am wrong, but if the linkback website is a directory, the relivent section on the site would be fine.

    not at all. Look for relevant sites not for relevant page. Remember its a site not a directory.

    and does a search engine know this?
    i am not sure how a search engine can differentiate between a regular page and a directory url.
    need some more info here.

    it is the webpage that matters more than the website. If the web page is related to your site and has good PR then definitely go for it. :)

    Also if you have doubts as to wheather link to sch page or not then, in that case, check other websites that are placed in that page. If those websites are similar to your website then I dont think there is anything wrong with going ahead with it.

    Yes it will help to increase backlink , you mentioned that it has a good PR. If the webmaster or the owner of that site requires you to linkback then point your link also to his/her related sub pages.

    Relevant sites are better than those unrelated. Unrelated sites don't always hurt especially if there is a wee bit of overlap in some content.

    How many links on that page for links? many? Something like 40 or 50 is not good even if related to your website.

    Also a backlink of disimilar content is not valued high.

    Link is a link and although fishing and real estate are not related firs hand but still every fishingman needs a property at some point just like there is a home owners that go sea fishing don't you think?

    just make sure of couple of things:

    1st is the linking page cached by google?
    if yes - how old is the last spider visit?
    if no mor than 1-2 weeks - you're in good shape
    2nd, how many other links are there already(more than 30=litle link power)
    3rd, to see stady SERP results you need 1-way links , reciprocal links are not as strong any more.
    How do you get 1 way links?
    -buy them
    -3-way links
    -course organic links..just write a good content

    construction links exchange
