idiots at DP...

Everyday I am convinced that more idiots are here....let me explain....

I was interested in a website in the buy/sell section...the owner of the site posted some stats, but not all....since I have been scammed in the past, I asked him for some more complete stats....he graciously replied (with which I thanked him)....however, some idiot gave me a red rep for asking for the stats? WTF? I wish there was a way to sort the idiots out of DP....below is a link to the thread...my first post was the one I got a red rep for and the message "hater"...what childish behavior...

Unfortunately there are a lot of children on this site, and I'm not talking about age.

It probably had nothing to do with what you wrote; someone's just abusing the system.

the main problem here is everything is hidden, people some times gives a negative rep, without purpose. but then it is the part of the system, and no one actually could do anything. i have got + and - on the same thread, so you can't say it is right or wrong, it's just they rep givers thought:(

I actually agree with you on this one buddy.

Me and my partner bonzer have just launched a SEO contest with $1,000 in prize money and some knob jockey gave me a red rep with the words "gee thanks."

Try not to worry about it too much.

sorry to hear about it d16man

I am not sure if mods can interfere in these kinda situation. I saw people explicitly asking for green reps for some trade or for digging or posting in a forum.

itrade is one thing at which we can give more attention for reputation than green reps.

    wish you luck mate

Well, I think giving a red in that kind of situation is really right. But IMO, you should also not start a thread about it.

The key to the rep system is the same as the key to the invisible hand in economics -- it works in the long term.

In the long term - if you're not a moron - your green rep will grow.

I see that you have three green bars; you're well on your way! :)

Perhaps there should be some arbitration system where such red reps can be challenged, like Ebay.

    Dunno. IMHO.
