    I need suggestions.. (please).

I am thinking of buying a notebook/(laptop). I am a graphic artist and a webdesigner. I use programs such as photoshop, flash, fireworks.. (etc) they usually require big amount of space and high memory...

I always want things to work fast and the screen to look impeccable..

What model would you suggest for someone like me?
    Thanks..

I agree (but maybe a smaller resolution)

Macs are great for graphics design! It's all we use in graphics design class.

I would avoid HP where possible (bad experiences..) sony laptops have worked great for me and they're quite good for graphic designers. Apple is a good bet too. If you going for bang for your buck grab a dell however remember that the parts inside just aren't at the same grade as an apple or sony laptop.

I would suggest a desktop pc they run better for laptop parts are close together and heat up ( I have had 2 laptops and both burned up in less than a year, 1 Dell, 1 Compaq )

But either way look for a fast processor, the best out there is the intell conroe
Make sure it has 1-2 gigs of ram
Look at getting a graphics card, I am using a radeon x800 for $150, It works quite great

For those specific programs you will probably be outed if you run on a PC. Those mac geeks might fling buggers at you and not allow you to sit with them at starbucks. (Probably won't let you come to the next star wars party either.) but having said that running it on a PC laptop - get at least 1gb of memory -2 if you run more than one program and have multiple edits going.

I would try to get a 3 ghz + processor too.

I agree on the 3 ghz processor, you will probably need this! I currently have that much on my laptop.. and loading photoshop, msn, word, wmp, yahomessenger, firefox all at once runs smoothly.

Also since you're doing graphics design you'll probably need to export HUGE resolution graphics eh? you don't want your laptop to freeze 1/2 way through..

Thank You so much for the suggestions.. I'll try to check every recommendation you guys gave. Keep them coming if there are still better options to choose from.

I have a pc and I run these programs smoothly. I was thinking of buying a laptop since I need this when I am not at home. Or when I need to travel.

But I always end up so dumbfounded with the specs to check when I scout for one. Or which brand is better from the other.. things like that.

Since you'll be using it.. while traveling I suggest (and I want to emphasize) that you should check the battery life (my first mistake) make sure it has long battery life, 2 - 3 hours is simply not enough

I have never used a mac though.
Have been very comfortable with windows for 8yrs already.
Do you think this will become an issue for me? (If I do get a mac)

Macbook pro is just too much.
Too big , expensive, and the 20" model just isnt portable.

If you want a laptop, go to a mac store and take a look at a macbook.
Perfect for all graphic design things.

Don't take my word for it, nor what anyone else says - go check it out yourself.
I can only suggest you get a mac.
Far less problems / issues, no viruses, no spyware.

Its just always worked for me.
Having said that, I feel the need to have a PC as well (Have a PC notebook).
And if you ever wanted, you could just as well install Windows on your macbook :D

Already buy one? So you are designer in graphic or websites. This job require a fast processor, bus speed, large amount of HD and RAM. For me I don't much care about what model or brand is (laptop), as long as speed and resolution specification are fulfill

Although you do want to research reliability of the brands. Sony, I believe has a good score. From what I have read on Toshiba, I don't think I would ever buy Toshiba. But then again, each model can have a different history.

Best to look up the specific model before buying and know some things about the brand in general.
