I have long list of top ranked directories. only problem is that while their homepage has great PR and in indexed, by the time I get to page I would list in the PR is zero and the page is not indexed by Google. any advice on this? Sorry I can't post the urls, digital point (and I have never seen this before in a forum) says that I am not allowed to post live url links (because i'm new? I have no idea)
what is the catagory your looking for kev ? for your submittion? I think you need 20 posts before you can show a live link. thx malcolm
all you need to do is post your url here. Google will crawl this page....post url will make it live for you.
this is the directories page, and you can always post a list, because it helps everyone. anyways, about the live links, as someone has already told we will make those live! about your indexing problems, i suggest you to make a sitemap, try the gsitecrawler, you will then certainly have most of your pages in the google's index. you will have live links after 25 posts i guess, keep posting! cheers!
You are not understanding my question at all, this nothing to do with my site. lets try again: the directories I'm looking at -- great, top flight directories, -- the innerpage suited for my business is often not indexed by Google strangely enough. Would you still submit?
if it is free, it won't hurt. The page will be indexed sometime or the other. You can also inform the webmaster of the same. The subcategory page will still be very empty. Your submission might help getting it indexed? But you are right, if it is not indexed, your site won't get crawled, if that is what is worrying you.
Look at the cache dates, that will give you an idea of roughly how often the directory's pages get crawled. It could just be that the category is newish, and the page will eventually get indexed. Or it could be the case that the page isn't in cache because the directory doesn't have enough link juice to pass to inner pages. Sometimes things will improve, and sometimes they won't, and it largely depends on how much the owner is prepared to spend on promotion. One thing's for sure, you can't judge future performance by PR alone. Take a look at the whole package: does the directory look cared for, with a unique look, well-maintained listings and no empty categories? What is the evidence that it has good traffic? If everything else looks right, then it might be worthwhile to submit anyway.
