This list assumes you get a sitewide correct? Have you checked the actualy PR of page 5 unde Directories where your regular link would be placed?

I dont disagree this is an awesome list. It just would be awesome if you got a sitewide from each of them not just a regular link...

Also I'm shocked you don't have aviva directory up there...

Although pr does play a role in the rankings it is not the main factor used when giving sites a certain rank on the search engines. If this were true then both google and yahoo would be at the top for this keyword "internet web directory"

PR does help, but you still need good links in order to get to the top of the search engines.

The directories I listed are not based soley-upon PageRank, but also how search engines value them, much how DMOZ was once the basic foundation for Google; these directories listed are basic outlines of "good" sites listed in major search engines.

[Boy..I hope I worded that right..but you get my drift.]

Aviva is another directory I would say that is worth investing into, but my list is for the investor on a budget. ;) Hehe.

Alright, well so far I have submitted my site to the following directories:

You may be asking why I decided to submit to the directories above, as those weren't all the ones in the list.

Well, I'm on a really tight budget, and that's all I could afford right now. Let's see how much this investment was..

    $25 + $40 + $30 + $8 = $103

There goes all my money.

Depending on your topic, it's possible to see a decent roi. I know I have with some of the directories you've already submitted to. Good luck with the promotion.

Well thankfully no matter what there will be a ROI with any directory submission investment in my list, as the PageRank of the site submitted will increase. PageRank gives webmasters the oppurtunity to make money with link sales and traffic. :D

It's nice, in that aspect, but that's only if you're desperate to receive a ROI. ;)

well, since you added me into the loop.

go for the featured with 5. NOT because it's the most expensive, but because

    1. you can use extra anchor 'in directory' as well as on your details pages. double incentive.

    2. if you have a blog, add the feed. you can syndicate yourself on your detail page to help keep it content fresh and changing for the bots to enjoy and to help boost your PR at the same time.

    3. keep track of your listing via the book marking, and also keep track of others who also save your listing.

    4. get your bots statistics updated

    5. see where you stand on the more authoritative .gov .edu and the social book marking scene

    6. know where you are in google with its stats (more are coming)

    7. 5 extra urls to better help define your more targeted categories/pages on your site.

    A good example is eWebPages
    http://www.directorydump.com/internet/directories/paid/
check the anchor in directory and then in detail and the [review site] for the bells and whistles.

I'm adding some extra stuff today, but only CReed is presently set to see it :)

I've gotten 19 down on my list so far...I think I'm going to make the list have 20 or 25...let's see how many other ones there are that are worth submitting to. :)

    Hello,

Joe Ant is a very, very strong link its always one of the first i submit to.
2yi.net and Chiff.com are also a very strong links, you might want to research them.

I have noticed lately that Romow, Haabaa, DirectoryDump, and eWebPages have been gaining alot of strength, i see them all over the serps. And they are next on my list.

    Good Luck

2YI.net looks good; I'll be sure to add that on my list. :)
Cliff.com doesn't exist...it's a domain parking page, and Haabaa is so bad I think. I hate region-specific directories.
