I saw users selling VCC at the forum that validate your PayPal / Ebay / Adsense Account for a small price .

Is this thing legal and safe to use ?

Just wanted to be on the safer side .

I have never used one, because it kinda defeats the real purpose.

But if you look at the popularity of those threads, it does look like that they are safe to use.

You may PM the people who started those threads incase you have any doubts in your mind.

Well, in my opinion, VCC are like getting a fake ID to enter a club or something. It may or may not work. If you use it, use it with caution.

If paypal finds something fishy, they may require you to submit more documentations then it may lead you to some issue.

I agree with gr8liverpoolfan on this.

Verification means to validate your identity and creditworthiness but a VCC does not provide any of that.

Personally, I believe the reason why Paypal is no longer secured and plagued with issues is because the value of verification has been deeply discounted. I mean in the past, when you deal with someone who has a verified Paypal account, you are certain that the person is who he say he is and is trustworthy. But now, any Tom, Dick or Harry can get a VCC and get his account verified which in effect makes a verified Paypal account totally worthless.

Don't do it if you still have some morals and want to do the right thing.

PayPal is VERY much insecure now a days.

Verified status does not means he cant scam you. Because if he verifies by VCC, they will be verified without any identity.

They will ask you the card statement and copy of credit card which clearly shows the card number. So, once they find it out. You're gone forever!

Well to be honest I'd say that VCCs are safe to use (Means there are no problems for you). But when it comes to verify something, the main purpose is to get your identity for future (to prevent frauds). Same is the case with PayPal, but VCC defeats the whole purpose of this verification process. Anyone can get a VCC for like 10-20-30$ and verify PayPal, rip some other person and gone without any problem. So this is the main problem otherwise VCCs are safe (As off now, you never know when PayPal changes it's Policy :D)

Well, that is why when I found out that VCC is quite heavily used for verification, I decided to stop using Paypal on a regular basis and use it only as a payment platform for people I really trust.

Last time, being verified stands for something but now it does not mean anything. To me, for the most part, a verified account does not mean it is verified at all.

Well, usually if you have a credit card, you will not need a VCC in the first place. It appears that those requiring VCC for verification are those who are :-

    1) Underage and thus does not quality to obtain a Credit or Debit Card and also do not quality to sign up with Paypal or

    2) Comes from a country which is not approved by Paypal or

    3) Do not want to reveal their personal information because they may plan to default others.

Of course, there may be people who legitimate reasons like not being able to quality for a credit card in their country because of national regulations or cannot access to a bank in the town that they are in.

So far, I don't see people who are offering VCC asking for payment using credit cards but usually it is payment through e-gold where is the total anonymity and no protection for the buyer.

Nope as VCC's are one time use cards itself so they can't be used for future transactions.
So even if the seller knows your VCC number he/she can't use the number again and agian.

Completely agreed ~ I personally don't trust PayPal at all due to some stupid policies as well as this chargeback part. Though we are bound (To some extent) to use PayPal as majority use this.

It depends on the Value of the virtual credit card. There are some cards with 500$+ balance so somehow this is the matter of trust between you and the vcc seller. :)
