Gee - this is a new one!

Got this email - from "loinsees @ Digital Point Forums"

So, now it's not enough to just spam our pm boxes - they are sending them directly to my email address?!?

 

How about reporting that member as spam ?

This person is still online - and gathering more people's emails by the looks of it. Can we just get them kicked out?

just got one. i keep on refreshing and refreshing my inbox here on dp to read it. i thought theres some bug cause i got no pms. then i opened the email. lol

Yup I hate spammers too.
Anyways, you can disable members sending you email by going to:
User CP --> Edit Options
Uncheck "Receive Email from Other Members"

it could have been worse.

a couple of months ago it was such that you could check or uncheck "let other members see your email".

Myself and a bunch of others stupid enough to have their email visible got their addy's harvested and SPAMMED before Shawn changed that option.

 

I think that's the one that he was talking about. I had it checked to receive emails. I think that's the default setting. That would be why my email keeps getting those viagra emails...

well, that was the change "receive emails from other members" is entirely different from "show other members your email".

at least now people have to physically use a form to send the emails whereas before anyone could just grab the emails and then defile them after the fact.

 

i got a spam mail yesterday, and in it there was a thousand other email address or dp members. i think people are collecting the email addresses.
i guess, we can not do any thing about this ,

 

even I do get such spams nowdays,just ignore them or repost them to MOD.

i never report a spammer because it does not harm me, they are just getting pleasure and i let them enjoy, spamming is the lowest level of marketing stuff and i dont like it STOP SPAMMING SPAMMERS!!!

I guess you haven't been hit by the people who keep trying to trick me into opening those .pif file. Or the hundreds of viagra emails - or the lotto ones. Maybe you have gotten them. Dunno - but someone has to say stop. maybe I missed it and you were being sarcastic. Is kinda hard to tell on forums sometimes
