I don't know about you but whenever see anything .biz I think scam, lame or unprofessional fly by night type thing. Do others feel this way?

Hmm. Some recent .biz sales don't seem to indicate the same though.

    smd.biz $665 2007-03-06 Sedo
    journal.biz $346 2007-03-03 Sedo
    mediagroup.biz $200 2007-02-28 Sedo
    kauai.biz $1,250 2007-02-25 Sedo
    guitartabs.biz $300 2007-02-21 Sedo
    advent.biz $3,500 2007-02-20 AfterNic
    granit.biz $2,926 2007-02-19 Sedo

Personally I believe .biz is good cheaper alternative for .com/.net in situations when .org
is not suitable. Somewhere close to .info.

Another metric is number of registrations
    http://www.circleid.com/posts/domain_registrations_hit_112_million/
.biz comes after .info but have more registrations than .name,.cc,.ws and others.

I thought that many people had an idea of .biz like the one you have..
But the number of sales seems to show that probably it isn't so..

Finally, it seems that people involved in this business (not excluding myself :p ) mostly care about how good is the name, almost indipendently of extension..;)

Realistically upon reflection .. Soon .biz will be fine when the net matures in 5-20 years there will be extensions we never even heard of yet so .biz will probably mean nothing or people will just completely ignore extensinos all together.

I think it's mainly types like us that even notice. Most web users just bookmark a site once and dont' even know how to get there besides a search engine.

just like now there is a problem with adult domains, ICANN is trying to implement a new rule, for all adult domains, webmaster must use .XXX domains...like this, may be (Not sure 10% chance) ICANN implement a new rule for business domains also, then you get very good value for your domains...

*this is in the wrong forum!* I'm a .biz fan... I disagree with the scam idea, I think .biz name is a good third tld next to .com and .org

Depends which country you live in and the area your sites are into
in the UK its better to have .co.uk instead of .biz .org the area of buisness our sites are in there isnt 1 .biz address thats making it into any of the search results that count, but there seem to be 100's of .biz sites that offer no value at all usally on get rich quick sites

There will be the odd occasion when a .biz domain will out rank the .com or other top level domain name but these are few and far between.

IMOA they are a waste of time but they work for some so let them get on with it.
