I launched a new blog yesterday at www.FadMarketing.com where I'll be discussing various marketing trends (mostly Internet marketing, online advertising, and online PR trends). There are a few that I want to get into early (some new; some not so new), including: Myspace Marketing Pay-Per-Post Linkbaiting Social Media Press Releases Viral Video Marketing Marketing via Squidoo Marketing via Q&A Sites (like Yahoo! Answers and AllExperts) Promoting through Digg Social Bookmarking Video Ads Craigslist Are there any big ones that deserve to be within that initial list that I'm missing? Any trends you're hearing a lot about and want to see covered? Share your ideas.
Web 2.0 Thats an area which considers all of Myspace, social network sites, video websites, and other websites that are becoming part of web 2.0. You missed out blogging lol - but you might already have that. Also include Wikipedia. Thats becoming more and more important too. Affiliate marketing with informational products, and Ebay! Hope that helps
Hello, I would love some insight into RSS - specifically how to monetize RSS streams (either ones I publish or ones I add to my Website/Blog in a syndicated fashion). I know it is a bit "old school" but I would enjoy reading someone else's take on how e-mail relates in this Web 2.0 world. Also, how e-mail "postage" may end up changing all of the rules. Finally, I would be interesting in reading about mobile marketing (Web 3.0?) and if this is ready for prime time or a ways off. Looking forward to reading your Blog! -PRADCO
Web 2.0 is a bit general for this site, b/c it's evaluating specific tactics. I did mean to add blogging, although I'm not sure how I want to handle that one yet, so it won't be one of the first ones. Wikipedia and Affiliate marketing are good adds. RSS would be a good one too. I'll look into various types of email marketing (like autoresponders). It might be a bit early for me to cover mobile marketing, b/c the site focuses on fads and trends, which means they're already popular... but I'll certainly be watching the industry. I may do podcasting and/or webinars too.
Good luck on this. I did a degree in Marketing myself and I have to say you are like one of those people I would look up to. Please keep us posted.
Nice idea for a blog. I have subscribed to your RSS feed. I would have said RSS as well although I wouldn't consider it a fad as it is now mainstream and as entrenched as email. Look forward to reading yuor blog and hope you will be giving us all some good marketing tips.
Great idea, fantastic name and perfect blog template. I've bookmarked your blog. How often will you be updating it?
Probably 1-3 Fad or Fab features per week (don't want to push through all of the hot "trends" too quickly and run out), and I'm going to try to look for news on marketing trends to talk about with at least a post per day... probably starting Monday, although I'll try to pre-write a few tonight. I'm also going to try to update the list of Delicious links at the bottom of the home page daily, or close to it, on interesting articles, news, and more related to the topic that are worth checking out.
