I get also 5000 unique users a day, and I earn only almost $10 a day! though I have been with adsense less than a month (didn't get my first check yet, but already made the first $100) so I would be happy for a $30 a day for the same amount of visitors
Honestly if your doing 30 dollars a day your doing pretty damn good, thats 900 dollars a month, easily enough to pay off your school fees, if you go to a public school. Actually 30 dollars for 5000 impressions seems better than average so count your pretty pennies.
Wouldnt cricket be the biggest? Personally I hate cricket both watching and playing it. gridiron or american football is only popular in america am I correct? We played it before at school and it was boring as hell. Personally I prefer to play rugby. thats a real mans game . not this american crap where they are padded all over like a bunch of wimps. My opinion.
Look don't get into the football vs. football debate... in the US it ain't a big deal ("soccer")....ok kool....the rest of the world doesn't give a flying f*** about the US if they don't like the world's sport. Likewise in the US American football is the sport of choice no prob, the world doesn't give a crap about one of America's favourite past times. Simple as that....enjoy the sport you grew up knowing and loving. For me the football(the world one) and cricket(second most popular sport in the world). Now onto something adsense related.......my site gets about 1500 - 2000 uniques per day but i make an average of $2 bucks.... just started getting returns from this adsense thing, is this a start or is something out of wack and needs my attention. Any advice is appreciated.
$30 for 5,000 uniques is quite good. What do you expect? When you have 600,000 uniques a day, you will make more.
You should be looking at different ways of monetizing, for example Auctionads would allow you to generate revenue by displaying related ads such as football shirts & memorabilia which could be an awesome earner for your site. Don't just rely on Adsense. That's the number 1 rule imo.
As mentioned before in the posts above, try joining an affiliate program. I'm a member of CJ.com and some other advertising programs. Join for free, go to the online betting section and get some banners for William Hill/Skybet/Coral etc. If someone joins Skybet and places a £20 bet via your site, you will get around £20 commission. So if your site gets 5000 uniques a day, i'm pretty sure at least 2 of them will sign up. And this will get you about £40, which is better than what you are earning at the moment Message me if you want anymore help/advice.
I think $30/day is not too shabby for a sports related site. As pointed out, it's not the highest CPC area. But I'm sure you can push it up further by blocking the generic ads as suggested. Affiliate ads can be a good addition but I'd trial them on just a small portion of the site before using them site-wide, and see if they affect your search rankings at all. I've had pages take a dive after adding a CJ link, so I use them sparingly and then hidden behind a redirect like TinyURL. Soccer's great but give me jai alai any day.
5k per day is not so bad , maybe you can sell some banners and text links. (is it just me or the 80% off the replies doesnt should go to in the Chilling/Fun section ?) good luck !
I'm impressed with your unique visits. I'd be so happy with 5,000 uniques a day. That'll make my day.
I agree, if you try using adbrite.. you would make more than $30 with link sales. It seems like your click rates are extremly low, atleast with link sales the clicks don't count.. good luck
It might be time to look at different sources you can get from your site besides Adsense, like affiliate links and or selling a product on the site. Just my 2c.
I think considering the type of site you have, its ver good. You cannot expect much more from such sites.
