Which is why the second guy goes "orange rockets?" Or course they still fired. So they must have convinced themselves that the Iraqis were so clever they had camouflaged their rockets with orange to simulate the friendly markers

They blasted a couple of Scimitars - 30 mm Rarden canon and a couple of smoke pods but they DEFINITELY wouldn't have rockets on them anyway. There's no way those guys would have had rockets with them - you can't mount a Milan or Javellin firing post on the top of a Scimitar - it just isn't scientifically possible! Just goes to further prove how unsure the pilots actually were about the target.

they don't paint household emulsion on tanks. they use a radar/radio transmitter, that signals everyone they are friendly it transmits a colour code
you cant blame th pilots, you cant blame the awaxs either,, he only got his info from the uk commanders, the fact the uk troops gor a lot farther than anyone expected, is great, the usa airforce needs to allow it's men to call the shots,

i.e. it shows our colours, and we are gonna hold back... one freindy killing is not worth letting 10 free men go.
is that not the same with the court system in the usa?

You'd think so, wouldn't you. Believe it or not, they don't use any sort of fancy electronic gizmos. The main identifying features are the reflective orange panels and the actual shape of the vehicle.

They usually use the electronic stuff on airplanes. Tanks and other vehicles get some kind of symbol that has to be changed from time to time to keep the enemy from copying it. Of course you normally have different types of vehicles from the enemy, which should help in most cases. (It probably caused part of the problem here, though U.S. pilots have fired on Bradleys before as well.)

Here's a story about one tactic:

HM Coroner for Oxfordshire, Andrew Walker, has given a verdict of unlawful killing in the case of Matty Hull's death at the hands of the US A-10 pilots. Probably has something to do with the obstructiveness of the US Administration.

Yeah, it's one of these funny, medieval quirks of UK law. In all cases when there has been an unnatural death or death in custody the coroner has to establish the cause. It's not the coroner's job to attribute blame in any one particular direction, although this guy Walker seems to come close to that.

It is the same in other countries too. It is coroner who decides if it is natural death, homicide, accidental death,..

the usa need to stop this gun hoe shoot 1st, ask questions later, because they'll soon find themselves with fewer countries willing to risk their own troops lives, to back up the yanks, knowing the yanks kill more friendly troops than the enemy does

And that's called a 'verdict' rather than 'determination of cause of death'?
