Staying ON TOPIC - the whole point of the iTrader was so that people would have some form of reference when buying / selling on the forums to help with their decision on whether it was 'safe'.

The iTrader abuse going on now with the freebies makes a complete mockery of the trust supposedly confered by iTrader ratings.

Jeez, fine, just when a guy tries to lighten the mood someone comes along hating..

anyway yea freebies are racking up itraders which is abuse as well as scam/fraud, because higher itrader automatically establishes a trust...i worked 4 months on my network to get my itrader and i see newbies getting 40-60 itraders in a matter of weeks

    that kinda shoots my credibility...

I ain't hatin, Gnet - I simply know how these threads end up if it drifts off-topic. :)

Shawn knows we're right - eh, Shawn? :p

My iTrader isn't particularly high but every transaction is a legitimate exchange of goods / cash. I'm seeing some people sign up with a new account and have three times my iTrader almost as soon as they can post on the B/S/T forums.

Lol i know mcfox, jeez calm down, im just trying to lighten the mood a bit, this biz is so damn serious as it is...

look at css up there...so happy...just like a fat little kid....whos bald...and has glasses....and likes cats..

    anywho

i know what you mean, "we" actuallly SELL stuff to earn our itrader rank.....at first i had 1-3 customers a week now i have 3-4 a day....im bound to get a higher itrader but these freebies are really making it hard for me to show people that i didnt get my itrader by giving free ebooks, if i do give free blog posts i never ask for itrader.

shawn, these are the forums we need desperately to clean the bst forum

Freebies - for all the free loaders
    Accounts - myspace accounts/goldkey accounts...etc
    Ebooks - Buy/sell ebooks

i have no idea why ebooks are so damn popular...id stick with good ol' fashion paper

Very true, because of these "freebie itraders" the value of itraders has gone down.. some people have more itraders than me and I've sold more things ;) oh well...

    I support this idea too..

there are lot of newbies giving some free ebooks/content for itrader/rep

I think the solution to it is a Freebie section with no itrader permission for it.

Create a separate thread for free products that are personally developed which gets approved for points. Other Resale Rights products or similar should not get points.

I think a freebie section where itrader isn't allowed to be left, so if the thread url is in the freebie section it won't add the iTrader. That way they won't have 'fake' itrader and if they make the thread in another forum just for itrader, they'll get an infraction.

That is a better than just making a rule about it (because people would break it;)) but another problem is that people have to place these freebies in the appropriate section! Infractions, infractions, infractions..

Even this can be done that let it be in same sections. And moderators make a rule regarding itraders given for free transactions. If we catch it up, you get an infraction from now on?
Maybe any random checking by a mod or some members can check, soon we will see a few threads in this area about infractions for valid transactions and people will get informed about it and they will not give due to fear of infractions and ultimately ban :p

Another section for free would not be really great because we have everything grouped and as it is there are tons of sections. So, anyways :p

Yes agreed 100%, the fix to this is simple. Asking for iTrader/Rep should not be allowed doing so will get you a temp ban for first two infractions and 3rd is perm. But it should be lightly in effect at first just giving out warnings to let people know for the first few months, then strictly inforced, for someone can easily grab something from warez, rack up about 50-100 iTrader in a month and then go and sell something fake, like a board they don't own and scam someone for alot of money.

So how long we gotta keep bumping this up to see a response from an admin? :D

The idea is good an will cut down on the total number of "fake" transactions. Free stuff = +REP not iTrader.

OMG.. i was about to start free directory submission for trial (say first 10 members).:p
i need senior members opinon on this??,the idea is just to build confidence of my service as i am new to DP.

PS:- this will be only for one time and this will be a manual submssion value for about 25$ (no freebies tools,ebooks,scripts..etc)

i can understand how tough it is to get a itrader/rep.
    cheers to u all:D

It'd really help if a moderator or Digitalpoint could answer this already. It is a great suggestion and should really really be implemented considering the fact that people have worked up for this iTrader and it shouldnt be easy to get it unless you are really good.
