I completed Diploma From NIIT. Also work in software developing from last 3 yrs. Software Developing & Web site design was in my course (HTML, DHTML, VB Script, Java Script, ASP & So On). I developed web page as a project in my course. But I never design real life web pages. I only work with software develping. Now i wanna work with e-Commerce. just get a template made by a pro and then start editing it, the more you work the more you gain knowledge. niit is good, since you know html and asp you won't face much problems in this web field. cheers!
Blogging, ping and participation in forums such as this are a good way to let people know what you do and what you can offer. Becoming an active participant in the DP forums here is a very good start. I own a few websites and am constantly looking for more programmers, designers, etc..
make some useful and simple software. for example make a PC fix tool that cleans the registry, cleans junk files, uninstalls programs, has various XP tweaks and make it free. build a website for it, put forums and registration on it and when it starts having a lot users make a premium version and sell it. Or you can search for a job in some of your domestic ISP's to be a website developer!
