Of course, it will be like fresh start for link development of that domain. Why don't you leave the blog at blogspot and use the new domain to redirect to your old blog?

Since you don't have access to blogspot's servers you can't do a proper 301 redirect that will pass Page rank. So while you may be able to redirect your readers you can't get google to pass your page rank to your new domain.

The only way of being able to do that is to FTP your Blogger to your own hosting and pretty much start afresh. I just use a redirect on a few of my more popular Bloggers.

You might loose pr, the site will need to be reindexed
since currently it is indexed as you.blogspot.com/file.htm but how it will be indexed as you.com/file.htm
