I've had this site live for over 4 months now and it hasn't been indexed by google. Does it normally take this long??? Is there something wrong with the site code? I'm confused.
That's odd. If it were me, I would file a Reinclusion Request. Have you looked at the site through Google Webmaster Tools?
No, it's not gonna take that long. In fact, Google appears to rank pages faster than Yahoo! IMO. Yes, one of the things you need to do is to check it out at GWT, including sitemap submission.
i have checked your site and i have check the stemap.xml file.every thing is good. can tell me some thing abt your domain. i mean was it panelized before? of u have purchase brand new one? just try to purchase some high pr links. and submit your site to more directories as u can. if u have any doubt than pm me. -jigs
I bought the domain new about 6 months ago i think. I've never received any penalization notice or anything.
Get quality back links from other sites like directories, submit articles to ezines. Also submit google sitemap.
i have seen ur site and i saw ur title is too long its 116 char. with spaces but it must be 68 char. with spaces according to google.Although this can't be the reason for non-indexing !but still u can modify it.u have also used javascript function on body load <body onload="javascript:hasIE_hideAndShow();">--u could try using better.Although iam not sure about this one ! Also u r not using any meta description and keywords. Google webmaster central is located here :https://www dot google dot com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=sitemaps&nui=1&continue=https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/siteoverview%3Fhl%3Den&hl=en replace dot with .
The higher PR links you get the faster is it indexed. But 4 months is still a long time, even with poor backlinks. Has the domain ever been indexed ?
i found these in your site, this is your title, "The Teacher’s Staff Room — Providing teachers with education news, resources and a place to share ideas." remove all that and make it like this: "The Teacher Staff Room | Providing teachers with education news | resources and a place to share ideas" it is suggested, that you remove the last past of your title. these things helps in indexing, make some backlinks, buy some pr4+ backlinks, and you will be in the google's index, my 5 blogs got into google's index in just one weeks. so, i guess, backlinks helps a lot!
Two thirds of the title i would put into the description of the site as half of the words in the title are not keywords. I agree with the advice also to get more backlinks.
I think your domain has been banned by google. It was registered before in 03, 04 and 05. I can't tell who owned it but there are a few entries for it in the internet archive. http://web.archive.org/web/*/edu-hq.com file the google reinclusion request.
Webmaster tools is a place where you submit your sitemap and reinclusion requests, and also used in other Google SE purposes like site reinclusion. But it is also used to verify your site, and you can view your site stats like the crawl speed, broken links, etc.
Thanks everyone, I've submitted a re-inclusion request so I'll see how that goes. I'll also try fixing the meta data.
maybe, you don't used quality keywords that why it hasn't been indexed,or their is a wrong process of submission.
Azfar we can't say how many days as it depends on when those sites which your link was live will be crawled...
