I tend to outsource most of my content as I can never seem to get in to the writing side of this business. I enjoy designing the layouts and writing the code much more.
As mentioned earlier in the thread by other DP Members, virtually all of the difficulties that you've experienced are due to the price you're willing to pay. As soon as I stepped into the $9+/article range, these very same problems "automagically" disappeared, as the overall quality and craftsmanship skyrocketed. Furthermore, I took the time, as both an end consumer and Information Contractor to get to know each one of my Ghostwriters on a solid working basis. I no longer fear crappy quality, scrapers and plagiarists. Even tho you might be broke now, all the better reason to simply write your own, or as one DP Member pointed out - leverage PLR.
I missed this "PLR" term when it first appeared -- and now it's suddenly everywhere. What does PLR stand for?
outsource is a way to go for continuing your online business if you are a one man show. I'd rather invest the money earnt to the outsource than putting into my bank account coz the more you put $$ in, the more $$$ you get back (read the number of $).
PLR stands for Private Label Rights. Basically, it's the right to rebrand and/or edit a product's content.
Ahhh... Thanks! When I buy content, I want to make sure that it's mine and that I can do with it what I please -- and that the seller isn't going to sell it again to someone else! I want it to be just as if I wrote the content myself. I may have to start using a formal agreement with my writers.
I always use a formal agreement with anyone I outsource to. I have the original NDA's and ICA's in my office for my files as the freelancer has an original copy as well. I did this from the beginning so there are no questions or mistakes. Lisa
Yes I agree that for $5 an article you get what you pay for...thats Y I was not to angry about the whole situation. Because I was just experimenting at first...just to get used to the idea of outsourcing. But as far PLR goes I never ventured into this area, is there a recommended source I can get some articles from?
