Hypothetically speaking, if I had a cash cow pulling in billions of dollars a year I wouldn't even hypothetically consider shutting it down.
As was said before, Google would probably only discontinue AdSense in the event of a major economical depression. In this case, YPN and similar programs would shut down too.
I doubt they will shut it down now, espeically that Viacom has initiated a claim for $1 billion. Adwords earns them a huge chunk of their revenues.
Well, I think I'd probably cry too despite the fact that my ecpm and earnings have crashed this past week. I do have other revenue streams but ... I like AS. The ads I get are well targetted and though they might lead people off the site, I think they are providing a service too. I don't know of any other network that would deliver the relevance and the dosh.
well the advertisers would still be out there; guess I'd just have to approach them directly. This would take more time and effort but would probably earn more.
I'm sticking to my guns. The only reason google adsense (and with it, most/all other online advertising services) would fail is if there was a major recession. The reason would be because there would be no advertisers. Maybe a few will get lucky and land small advertising deals.... but, I would think these would be very small and not nearly enough to live on, and hardly enough to operate a site with. Using that reasoning, if Adsense falls, most of us that rely on any form of online advertising revenue are probably screwed.
The title of this thread made me laugh, someone is always going on about the death of SEO, a nice refreshing change LOL!
Well there are various other forms of internet advertising ..But dont know whether they will be as reliable as Adsense
I mean, there are a lot of lucrative forms of marketing other than adsense.... what with smart-pricing and all...
