Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group. "The honest answer is yes," Gingrich, a potential 2008 Republican presidential candidate, said in an interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson to be aired Friday, according to a transcript provided to The Associated Press. http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/08/gingrich.affair.ap/index.html Trying to stitch up Bill while at the same time having trouble with His Own Dicky
This guy left his first wife when she was in the hospital for cancer treatment. He is a symbol of Christian Republican Family Values.
unlike billy boy, he didn't lie about it...its like osamabama admitting he smoked weed...everythings ok if you don't lie about it..
Newt would get skewered for his personal life. He has a long history for being a scumbag on the private side. No wonder he and Clinton got along.
He didn't commit perjury because he was never forced to discuss his personal life in front of a Grand Jury.
Does that make him a better man? Or just a man of different circumstances? You don't think he would have lied to conceal the truth?
I do think it makes him a better man....humans screw up all the time, but it takes a bigger man to admit his mistakes...clinton couldn't do that. I don't he would have lied to conceal the truth, nor do I think he would have lied to keep the office of the presidency, which is what clinton did.-
Then why is it just now comiing out? If he was such an honest man why wouldn't he have talked about it before? Maybe because he used to be an elected official? Not to mention a "guardian of family values". At least Clinton (not defending him) didn't claim to be a moral guardian. They were both dishonest.
As I recall, I don't remember newt being ask this before....however, clinton was asked about it and lied...you can say you arn't defending him, but it sure sounds like it...and yes, he "used" to be an elected official.
