    What do you think of these new internet words:

    ur = your, you're and you are
    abit = a bit
    alot = a lot
    loosing = losing
    definately = definitely
    there = there, their, they're, there're

    Alot (whoops! ) A lot of people get them all mixed up and haven't got a clue how to use them. So shouldn't we just incorporate these new spellings into the English language to make it easier?

    Some find the apostrophe rules difficult and so just stick them anywhere (eg. banana's). Should those rules be relaxed too?

    What are your opinions on the standard of spelling, punctuation and grammar in schools today? What are they teaching the kids? Have standards dropped? If so, when did they (which decade, the '70s, '80 or '90s) ?

    These are not all internet words, most seems to be misspellings... Sometimes I am confused about word spellings after reading too much these bad writing habits.
    I have seen many time people writing "paid" as "payed" :eek:
    Many people don't make the difference between "their" and "there"

    "ur" Is an internet word. The rest are words that people don't take the time to look up the correct spelling of. No, I don't think we should incorporate mispelled words into the dictionary simply because people are lazy.
