    Hi there,

my site is on the 2nd page of google when search for the best keyphrase "Picture rating site"

I have done numerous link exchanges, I have mega back links, submitted to a HUGE list of directories...

What else should I do to make it get on the first page?

Any suggestions would be great, appreciate it!

    Cheers

Well make sure your keyword(s) appear within your title & h1 tags, and a few times within the document. and just keep building backlinks, you will get there, just takes time :).

Get rid of your link exchanges. Put out some linkbait. IE, How to take a photo that ranks well on Photo Rating Sites. Just as an idea.

One thing you may need is time for the page to mature. Audit your backlinks and make sure they look natural and try not to grow them to quickly.

Add some images to the page with good naming and alt text which may get you indexed with Google images.

Analyze your competition, and then try and work your plans out.
How old is your site by the way ???

When did you start this campaign? It does take a good amount of time before you'll see your efforts pay off. Continue doing what you're doing and give it about a month...I promise that you'll see results if you keep it up.

One thing I did that seemed to make a difference (although it could be coincidental) was to register my domain for 5 more years.

Within 2 weeks of this happening my serps increased but as I said, this could be coincidental. BUT it can't do any harm.

If your competitior's sites are older than yours, they are likely to be ranked first before you (all things equal), but work on the backlinks esp from high PR sites and over time, it will surely climb.
