I just saw this on one of my adsense ads. It contains an image of a shopping cart. This is totally new to me. Anyone else seen this?
Thanks. It seems that these have been around for about a month then. I guess I do not draw a lot of advertisers that use google checkout, because I've never seen this before. But then, I haven't seen it on any other site I visit either. Yeah, the blog post was made by "Jonathan Berger - Google Checkout Product Manager"
Its pretty clever actually... by doing this they in fact promoting their product through the use of someone elses advert. That ad would almost definetely have a higher CTR than others without the icon (you would assume) as well therefore encouraging people to use the google checkout product. Google is taking over the world... just look at what they are acquiring. Its very smart.... there are certain products we all use nearly on a daily basis, Google is acquiring these sorts of products or building them. In the future I see them all integrated completely. Off the topic a bit (sorry).... had a conversation with a friend of mine and we are both of the opinion that perhaps Google is focusing so much on these other products they are letting slip in the searhc engine world. Slow updates and poor search results back this up. Whats your thought people?
Hmmm.. I agree it is sneaky They get free exposure off it since advertisers are paying for their ads to be placed there. BTW: To answer the question, I've seen it *once* before.
