The editor application process is working again. I recommend that applicants study the title and description guidelines, read the category description, and review the current listings before submitting an application to become an editor. I'm sure the metas are looking forward to the surge in applications to be processed.
Darn I wanted to post that! Okay I sending hundreds of my alter egos I have created during months of waiting.
I hope you are joking... I submitted my app today, but it was before I noticed this thread (I checked there first) and am unsure of how long it'll take to be reviewed...but if there are many people out there doing multiple submissions, then maybe I won't have a chance, or will get passed over due to the stressed eyes of some meta. Since I started my site I wandered several admin type forums, and in that wandering I came across very few people in my niche, that were not also selling something....and I fear I'll be passed by due to some bloke just wanting to get his/her sites submitted or to make a quick buck selling new submissions. So again, I hope you are joking... Q
I did place smiley at the end, didn't I. Meta are always stressed there are so few of them and there numbers keep dwindling. Getting approved quickly depends on category you picked, how deep that category is and how good your descriptions sound. In other words if you stay away from commercial categories and pick some small category buried several levels down and your descriptions sound boring you have very good chance of getting in quickly and you even might get a bonus from generous Meta who will give access to category one level up for being so modest.
I tend to over look such things, as I've found many cases even the smirks are sarcastic Well, I'm seeking a few out of the way occult categories...so maybe I have a chance I think the only thing that would really hold me back is my site is not added yet. But I was perfectly honest as to which & what sites I post on, help maintain, and what not (all but two are listed there anyway). I'm not seeing a whole lot of editors in Religion & Spirituality, so maybe I do have a chance... I also wonder how me posting in this thread will affect my chances (as I used the same name). *shrug* I guess I'll find out. Q
I always applied for new categories with my own website so that description gets Meta approval (or rejection), problem is that engine doesn't remember this little fact (like it does at Wikipedia) and afterwards another senior editor might find your description inappropriate for who knows what reason. Just remember - Nobody expects The Spanish Inquisition!
It is no joke. It is common among senior editors to have multiple editors account. It is not that difficult to have different accounts when you know how to do it.
Actually it is ridiculously easy as long as you have decent English skills, IQ bigger then Private S. Baldrick and don't look like obvious spammer by applying for Viagra category.
Editors are needed everywhere. Make your first application to a small subcategory, get that category in good shape and then you can go on to larger categories.
Teach me plz so i can move from lower subcategory to higher subcategory and have multiple accounts at the same time
I wonder if my application was reviewed. my email was down sat/sun due to moving directorydump over to new hosting. hrmmm...
Sorry dude i cannot check that but once i become meta maybe than will be able to help with that. Ask some meta or original R-Z (be prepared ..)
You need many edits, best way to do this is create new categories in your test folder and then request there move to proper location on forum and you will automatically become there editor, once you have enough edit you can advance and ask for more categories. Other way to get edits up is to apply as greenbuster for some spam filled category but this is boring work.
How long ago? They say if you've not been accepted or rejected you can inquire about your application status. Their FAQ on the matter says: I've also seen it suggest one should wait at least two weeks before asking in RZ... There is also the matter of them possibly not needing/wanting an editor in the area you requested. Maybe try an alternate category and then once in, using the editor form, requesting to edit in the one you originally wanted. If you were rejected and they did not send the complimentary rejection letter, then 'shame on them' and best of luck for next time. Q
Notting, they always relpy to editor applications. You should check your spam folder, if there's nothing there and it's been 2 weeks you should ask at the Resource-Zone. Hoping all goes well, we really need the help.
Maybe you even get reply unlike me. But since you have broken Omertà with SGM you can't be trusted any longer.
