colocation servers

    think this is the right place. dont see no area for posting about hosting.

    anyone know what this means

    1 Megabit 95th Percentile Bandwidth

    i'm looking into getting a colocation server =)

    It means that they analyse a months of bandwidth usage and chop off the top 5% peaks. Basically it means "for 95% of the time your usage was under 1Mbps". 1Mbps is around 300 - 320Gb of traffic which is a fair amount and if you hit that much traffic usage a month then your should have enough traffic to monetize and cover the cost of more traffic with a lot of change.

    so i only get 350gb/traffic a month. that's not a lot ;O

    I need like 100tb of traffic a month =)

    Well that's over a 24hr period. Your host will allow you to burst and only bill you on this percentage. You could pull 5-6Mbit during the day and almost nothing at night and it will even out ok.
