What do you believe happens when you die?

Tough thread...I just got off the phone w/ a friend who's dad is a pastor (non denominational christian) and we were discussing various religions and how each religion, primarily christian and muslim, believe that all who follow opposite their own religion will go to "hell".

Its very difficult for me to believe that BILLIONs of muslims will be damned for not believing in Christ...and likewise for christians not following the koran.

Long story short...something has to happen after we die. In my opinion, the lights may go out so to speak, but everyone's soul must live on. And I personally believe that hell is fiction. I hope

 

I believe that humans reincarnate based on deeds that they have done throught their lives, Karma, same goes for all matter.

your body is the hardware and your soul is the software,
when you die, your soul tries to find another body, another hardware to boot, and remember every time it is a fresh boot, so you don't remember anything.
you start as a baby again somewhere, soul never dies!

there is no future there is no present, there is only the past. so you mean, someone will prove it in the past

Its not dangerous to die, either you get to a nice place or there are nothing. I do not believe in hell.

 

I would like to believe that when we die we continue on in another form of life until we reach enlightenment... but that is only if I'm looking for something to give me a reason not to fear what I don't know.

 

me as a hindu ,after i die my body will burned and only ash remains. nothing more than that.

 

Even ash can create life since it can make the ground fertile.

 

When you die you cease to exist.

The great thing about death is that if there isnt an afterlife, you'll never know it. I guess thats better than nothing for some of the non-believers.

 

i used to believe after death, there's only void and nothingness.
now after reading the chronicles of narnia, id like to think the other side is a portal to many other different worlds, where you're free to roam

 

other world is true , coz u dont know how BIG is this WORLD .... so other earth is also true , other me also true , yes its 100 or 100000 duplicates in this world its true coz YOU DONT KNOW HOW BIG IS THIS WORLD ...!!!

 

I believe after death I will be put in a waiting room and have to wait there till the end of the world.
