Why oh why do i go to Student Union bar in between lectures.... Complex numbers... What is the polar form of z=4j ? I did z=3+2j and z=1-5j but in this case... What do you do with the real part? Its missing. Should it be z=1+4j or something else? Thanks a lot!
hm... *grabs his book and frowns upon the spam from daffybug above this post* Well, my book told me nothing, and my knowledge of complex numbers on a scale of one to ten, is like a 6-7... Maybe this will help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_form#Polar_form edit: Just a second thought, have you tried anything with absolute value? Too bad DP didn't have Latex.
I already had a look at that. Hmmmm... In theory, if you plot it on the Argand diagram its 90 degrees but i need to be able to calculate it the hard way. As far as i remember you just need to add something to z=4j Thanks for trying to help me
The answer is "who cares" I did that on a test once. Math professors (especially in college) are completely devoid of a sense of humor too - but I found this out too late
Back in my weed smoking days i used to draw whacky pictures on maths exams. That did not work either.
