I developed HTML on eBay using their Basic Kit under the Affiliate section. I filled in all the necessary fields, and they developed HTML for me. This HTML didn't look correct, as it starts with <script and ends with </script>. I called GoDaddy (the website that is hosting my domain and where I created my domain) and they told me to save it in NotePad and call it index.html and set it in my website's FTP. I did this, and it didn't work. I then attempted to put it into Website Tonight, which also didn't work. GoDaddy tells me that the HTML is wrong. What can I do? Can I get a reply from a moderator so I can PM them my incorrect HTML?
My HTML -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <script language="JavaScript" src="http://lapi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?EKServer&ai=kzwpJzqzx-%24%26&bdrcolor=666666&cid=0&eksize=1&encode=ISO-8859-1&endcolor=FF0000&endtime=y&fbgcolor=EFEFEF&fntcolor=000000&fs=2&hdrcolor=FFFFCC&hdrimage=8&hdrsrch=n&img=y&lnkcolor=0000FF&logo=10&num=25&numbid=y&paypal=y&popup=y&prvd=1&r0=4&shipcost=n&siteid=0&sort=MetaEndSort&sortby=endtime&sortdir=asc&srchdesc=n&tbgcolor=FFFFFF&title=Cheap+Auto+Listings&tlecolor=006600&tlefs=1&tlfcolor=FFFFFF&track=2328004&watchcat=6001&width=570"></script> How do I put this into my GoDaddy site? I already tried using Website Tonight and the FTP, both didn't work. GoDaddy customer support (which I called 4 times) said there is an error in the HTML, like it needs the <html> and <body> tags and what not. I added those tags, and it didn't make a difference. I asked an eBay member who had these websites up for sale, and he says I'm doing something wrong on GoDaddy, and said for a $100 he will tell me what it is (what a loser).
hi Lakerman You are expected to paste that code unto an already working html webpage. if you paste that code on a simple text file renamed index.html ,an then manage to upload it, you will at best get a blank page with an ebay affiliate graphic. Have you ever built a website ? What exactly happens when you upload index.html?
I have never created a website until now. When I put in the HTML that the Basic Kit gave me, it takes a very long time for me to get on the webpage, and there's rather nothing there, Japanese symbols, or the HTML script followed by a bunch of boxes.
Hi Lakerman34, if you mean to be in affiliate marketing for a while, then perhaps you should invest in buying a book on website building for beginners, there are so many things that you are not talking about, such as html tags, the html source, Taking a guess, I suspect that you are pasting the html code on to the WYSIWYG design view of the package you are using instead of pasting it in the source.
If you are using Website tonight to build your site, there is a feature that will allow you to insert the HTML code to your site. With website tonight, you do not have access to the HTML code. GoDaddy support isnt really going to be able to help you with it, they don't provide support like that. There are other sections within DP, that you can get help with programming.
I JUST published my website. Check it out: www.cheapautolistings.com I don't know if what you told me to do worked though, it didn't show up when I clicked the preview button in the making of the website.
