    Hi

I was wondering if google will paneliz or even ban my
website if there is broken links from my website.

Lets say i had 20 index pages in google and only my
main index page works will i get panelized or banned ?

I lost one of my websites recently because my server
provider changed their servers and some websites wasn't
recover. I never made a backup and there for has some
    dead links in google.

Tip of the day : Always make backups of your websites :D

If there are navigation problems including links that go no where, then yes you can expect Google to penalize you. Better to fix them now then to have your page rank go south next month when the next Google page rank update rolls out.

Not to my knowledge. Perhaps someone who has experienced a similar problem could weigh in.

I am sorry for you having to endure this problem; I hope you can beat it before it beats you.

Or you can choose a hosting company with automatic backups. :D

A method to identify your broken links could be using "wget -r" (unix command) from your homepage. Then check at your log files to find your HTTP 404 errors
    .

I use google webmastertool and under the web crawl error section
    it shows

    Not found : 285

When i go to the list of not found links and click on them
they still go back to my website that i started over ... It's not like
all the links are completely dead.

Make sure you check the dates on the crawl; some of them could be quite old. We've had the same problem where we've fixed something and it doesn't show up until the next crawl, which could be anywhere from 1 day to 5 days to 2 weeks away depending on various random factors.

Its better if you fix your broken links. Also you can make a custom 404 error page.

Better fix those errors now. Or if possible, redirect them to one of your sub-pages like the site map or even the home page.

These links like i said is in the not found section in the
google webmastertools panel. If i click on the links it still
takes me to my website but not to the specific movie because
its no longer on my website.

Isn't that like a redirect allready?

Use webmaster tool to figure out where they are pointing then clean em up. I wouldnt worry about getting banned, the internet is full of servers going down at any given time.
