I don't like these sites.... but if you want to become famous.. it's very easy. Especially if you are a hot chick and looking for someone to employee you.
I am only using orkut and I don't see how my privacy would be invaded when I don't mention anything of sensitive nature over there. Hatred and racism are pretty much every where, we just learn to deal with them.
I once saw these stats about Orkut and how Orkut gets a dollar every time someone signs up and another five dollars if that person does something else.
The internet does seem to cater to the lowest common denominator like that. People express racist thoughts and hatred on the net they wouldn't dream about expressing elsewhere. I always wonder if it brings out peoples' true nature or are they just letting fly because no one knows who they are.
Excellent points. A bit of both, I'd say. People know that no one is going to harm them physically over the internet, thus giving them the sense of security. People here on the internet say whatever that comes into their mind without scanning and filtering the good & bad from it. It's something they wouldn't do, when socializing physically.
