What's it take to get accepted in YPN?

I run a trading & investing blog and applied to YPN a couple months ago and got a vague reply saying it's still in beta, but maybe we'll let you in later. Seemed weird since I got approved for Adsense in no time - if I had to guess it's because my site doesn't have enough traffic for them to bother. So now I'm wondering how long I'll have to wait for this thing to be out of beta, and if there's anything I can do to speed up the process of getting my site approved. (Or maybe it's out of beta? I haven't really been paying attention.) Any ideas? I've heard good preliminary data about their payouts compared to Adsense, and would at least like a chance to see for myself...thanks for any advice!

 

I applied, waited a month, applied again, waited a month, applied again, waited a week, got accepted.

 

Try applying again after few weeks.

 

Thanks - didn't know it was OK to apply more than once. Actually I'm surprised they allow it.

 

Applications seem to get lost at YPN, thus, applying more than once is a nessicity.

 

Hmm...that really builds confidence in their systems. Hope they don't lose clicks too. Or checks.

 

they have lost both of those before. i doubt they lose applications though. i imagine they are so overwhelmed with apps and they probuably dont go through them everyday. it seems the extremely limited number of invites that do come out these days, come out in batches and is probuably approved / denied via a software app and in limited quantity. if you want to get approved, you have to offer soemthing they dont already have.

I imagine that maybe perhaps they are still trying to get things worked out...the more people they except the farther they become to being out of Beta...remember, Beta is technically a testing phase. If you want to get good test results, you can't constantly change your data points...

 

Same thing happened to me bro, my advice is to wait till they have all the bugs worked out. I will definetly be hopping aboard when the chance comes.

 

Beta means nothing. GMail still shows as being in Beta. I've been using it for two years and have yet to find a problem. I think it's a marketing term created to make you feel like you're part of something special. "In the know", so to speak.

 

Beta is a nice way of saying "we have a great idea, but the business model isnt finished"

 

hmm. beta is a working version used to test the capabilities of something in a real world environment and work out the bugs before release. if ypn had just released their product without a beta, they would have had to shut the product down within a month. even now, if ypn releases without fixing the numerous problems within their system, they will have to shut the product down within a month. this beta test is extremely important to yahoo, their advertisers and the publishers. it takes 3 ingredients to make a successful program like this; advertisers, publishers and the "system" to connect the 2. a shortfall in any of these areas will spell disaster for ypn.

I have applied several times and never even received a reply from them.

Is this typical....I started to suspect that my spam filters were dropping their responses but the last two times I shut down all filters....
