I am considering to add my sites on Aviva and Alive directories.

But most of my sites and directories have Aviva and Alive directories links - In the form of sitewide, homepage, directory listing and so on..

Will it be considered a Reciprocal linking with no SEO / PR advantage ?

1-way links are more powerful... regarding SEO, but if you are reciprocating a link - it is not all for none ;)

I wouldn't worry about it. I doubt there's any true disadvantage for reciprocating. ;)

It will not hurt to reciprocate with a few directories, it may even help a little. Reciprocal links are not bad you can't over do it.

A one way must have more weight though as it's considerd an "anonymous" vote with no relation to you?

Very good post :). This tatic is often over looked. Those who run more than one directory could get very good pr to their new directories (or sites) just by adding a link from the homepage of their main directory. In other words, it is better to take one directory and market the hell out of it then use that directory to gain more traffic and sales to the rest of your network. A very good tatic and one that other directory owners should look into.

DP Members coolweb and saad are very good at this.

If you are paying $35 than its better to go for $49 :) and keep it one way. It's just a matter of few dollars more afterall.

    I went with a recip

    http://www.avivadirectory.com/detail/link-11750.html

but that was for my directory. I have sites in there that I went with the 1 way link option because it's more beneficial.

If it's a site like yours (ie directory/directory) recip is fine, but if you have a site about widgets best go 1 way for SERPS. As far as PR then obviously ONLY one way.
