hey guys i started my celeb n videos blog like 25? days bak im sure i havnt completed a month yet. When i joined dp i searched some old threads n got lots of info on SEO. 1)Unique Content. 2)Frequent Updates to site 3) Correct keywords 4)BACKLINKS 5) SEO friendly sites meta data etc i tried to keep my content unique and im still sticking to that.I have optimized my site to be SE friendly. In the first week i started with 120 hits and before the month has ended im on 600 daily.I tried to target right keywords (which i trace through extremetracking.com and try to see what people are looking for and post stuff accordingly).I have exchanged links with some PR5 and PR4 sites through DP link exchange section.Currently 75% of my traffic comes from GOOGLE only.I have cheked my backlinks in yahoo it says 250 BUT in google its NIL?? i dont understand why?? and yet IMO my site is reputed in google.Because when i repeat the search queries which i found in stats i see my site on first and second page of the search and the keywords used are quite popular ones in my niche .Initially i tried link building through directories but i was a noob and didnt know the actual purpose of this and stopped subimitting my site and still im with only listed iin two PR2 directories. so these are my questions. -Whay google shows NIL backlinks and yahoo shows 250? -Why google sends me 75% of the traffic and yahoo NIL ? -I need some high PR directory lists for submission ( i tried searching but didnt help me) -I witnessed some increase in tarffic from google but from past 7-10 days its static why it aint increasing anymore? any other SEO tips you would like to share particularly relevant to my site is most welcome. Thanx oh my site is http://www.pod35.com
Use Yahoo-powered Backlink checker to check your backlinks. Google do not update their link: index often. Alternatively, use the Google Sitemap account to do so. To increase your ranking, try to attract more inbound links
Your site looks ok. You are on a good track. Google takes a lot of time to update the 'link:' function. Don't worry about it. Did you register it at technorati? They have good tools for what you are trying to measure.
