Hey we might have a woman president of the US soon, so.. better don't say anything you might regret later btw, anyone ever heard of any woman webmaster of some really big site?
Funny how nobody uses the same criteria to judge the male candidates. They appear more interested in who they may be descended from.
Why not, some women especially for those who studied PC tech in college, they can be good webmaster, but on the other hand there are much more men webmaster the women webmaster.
I think woman is good webmaster. Most woman today is skilled and dedicated in their professional specially in the IT and computer industry
Many very large sites are run by women. Here's the big difference: Men seem to prefer calling themselves "webmasters," while women owning, running, managing, and promoting a site are more likely to choose another title (generally something with an editorial title). But just a couple of examples of women doing well in the Web game: There's Shai of B5 (one of the co-founders). Cooking.com is run by a woman (have to imagine she's doing rather well for herself). TheKnot.com is run and managed by a woman (one of the biggest wedding portals on the Web). Both the webmaster and Editor-in-chief of the Suite101 network are women. The All Info About network is run by two women in the UK. There are tons out there, even if they might not be mostly in the technical area. Remember two things: 1. There are a lot of huge sites out there "for women" that most webmasters probably don't frequent or think of (but they're enormously successful business-wise). Many of those sites are also run by women. 2. Men have the larger tendency to focus on the tech aspect of a site, like programming new features, while women seem to be more naturally content- and business-oriented when running a website, and more willing to simply outsource the tech side if they need to. That doesn't make them less of a webmaster though. That involves the technical aspect, the content aspect, and the marketing / promotion. Not many people are great at all three (and running a huge site means you'd likely not be able to do it alone anyway). Men and women just have different strengths.
of course yes. what is the problem if she has the time and the dedication that deserve the domain ...
I know a woman who tried to run was running a successfull paid to read email site. Then she tried do some investment banking (a more manly industry) using the sites reputation. Obviously she crashed and burned. I don't think woman and men are much different when it comes to webmastering.. its all about what you specialise in. woman - cooking, cleaning etc ... men - forex, hardcore biz etc. (obviously there are exceptions).
If women can become doctors, lawyers, engineers, pilots etc.... they can also become good webmasters. Its as simple as that.
That's a really good list jhmattern I never knew there were so many! And I've seen some of those sites before as well That's pretty funny, I don't think there are a lot of females that build cleaning sites.... lol. Cooking, probably! Though I'm a huge exception because if I were to build a site on cooking and cleaning that would be a joke lol
