I have some extra appraisals at godaddy that I don't have use for. I am willing to sell them for just $3 each. Godaddy charges $6 for each one. Here are the details: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=263219 Thanks!
Can someone please briefly explain an appraisal to me? Are they basically an estimate of a domain's value, by a neutral 3rd party? How do they work it out - is it automated?
It is a process where the value of the domain is determined based on various factors. The cheap appraisals (less than $20) are mostly automated. The custom appraisals are expensive and cost more. Typically, it is pretty easy to get a fair appraisal for cheap. I get an automated appraisal from godaddy.com or likes. Then use the various factors as follows 1) Revenue & Earnings 2) Traffic (organic, links etc, with different weightage for each) 3) Key words (some keywords are expensive than others) 4) Type of market (seasonal, all year) 5) Competition 6) SE rankings & SEO results 7) Page rank + Name factors such as 1) length 2) Extension 3) ambiguity 4) age 5) reputation 6) desirability etc The above factors are just a short list. There are lots more factors and each has different weightage. The best indications I find are revenue and traffic as they encompass many factors. I am offering godaddy appraisals for just $3 each [godaddy charges $6]. Cheers!
