***Increase traffic to your blog by writing for a high ranked PR6 site***

    We need guest authors for Mandarinmusing.com, a well-ranked Technorati site(340) with PR6.

    What I need:
    1. Latest content on WordPress, SEO, Web 2.0, Technology.
    2. Minimum 1 post a day.
    3. You should limit your post to my site and yours, no third website should have the same post.
    4. I want short interesting posts.
    5. Content should match my site, check my site for a feel.

Alternatively if you would like to be an author for a more popular site, Headsetoptions.org, PM me and I shall let you know the requirements.

    Thanks.

I am neither buying nor selling anything, so to answer your question, it is in the right thread.

We started writing for high ranked sites for 'free', as you call it.

In return, we learnt from them and drove traffic to our sites. You may call that free, but I call that mutual interest, nothing comes free. You get free advertisement, we get free posts.

This offer is not for those already doing well, but for those who have the potential to do well and have not been noticed yet.

So if my Website is PR4 and I already have one blog that is linked to my PearlyWrites Website, would posting on your site raise my PR?

To be honest, your PR won't increase with one blog post. But linking to a site with higher PR than your own will definitely help boost your overall ranking over a period of time, also there are other factors like incoming links and traffic to your site.

Just to give you an example:
Headsetoptions started as a guest author on ThoughtMechanics a year ago, which used to be amongst the top 100 popular blogs on Technorati. We hardly had any traffic at that time, but we enjoyed the experience, and our Alexa ranking is 81700 today, in less than one year from the time we started.

That's all I can say, everything is possible if you work towards it. Best to you.

Mutual interest or your own interest?

Most writers are interested in make a living, not in increasing their website's pagerank.

If everyone wrote for a living, there wouldn't be so many blogs in the blogosphere, I can tell you that much.

True, but those blogs are run by people writing for "themself," not someone else. Most of us here who are "successful" writers didn't start out by writing for free, and no writer has to. If they're going to write for free, it would / should be with a large nonprofit or something to build quality portfolio pieces and exposure. Getting their writing portfolio site a backlink is worth very little, b/c they don't get most of their traffic in general from search engines (so it's flawed logic that there's a benefit to them). They get their traffic and clients by building a quality portfolio and networking with other writers and potential clients instead.

This thread is not reserved for unsuccesful writers as far as I know :( doesnt say anything in topic regarding the level of success to qualify for viewing this thread.

I think any one who is a member of DP is working towards being succesful and every one has thier own benchmark of being succesful.. You might say an alexa rating of 50000 if being succesful where as some might say that the site is doing very poorly.

Yes I agree with the people who replied previously that there is very little benefit for a writer looking at your offer.

With no disrespect to you or your offer.. Every DP member can express themselves here on this thread.

Best of luck to you for finding writers for your blog.

Everyone has an opinion about what success means to them. Whether you're "big and successful" or just starting out, everyone has a place in this thread.

If you'd said in your thread that the writing was for "FREE", then successful writers wouldn't generally waste their time. ;) But for the most part, I read just about every thread in the copywriting area (not where this belongs by the way, as per your own description, it's a "trade" of benefits).

Keep expressing your opinions, but I think its a waste of time writing on a thread that is of no interest to you.

It's not an opinion. It's in the wrong forum... plain and simple. You'd likely get a better response posting to a forum where people are actually looking to trade services rather than in the forum where people are discussing Web copy to improve conversions on their website.

I was simply asking the question about Page Rank. I wasn't planning to write for free and agree with jhmattern's comments. I was asking the question to learn about PR and how to improve my present ranking. Thank you.

Guys, there is nothing wrong with writing for someone else in exchange for a backlink. Many blogs which are just starting need backlinks and having one from PR6 website is quite good in my opinion.

He claimed that you need a minimum of 1 post per day. I don't know how long it takes you to write an article (well written, coherent, and catchy), but in that time I can build a few backlinks from directories and link exchanges.

If it takes you fifteen minutes to write a mediocre article, and you get 1 backlink. I spent fifteen minutes in the link exchange section and built 20 backlinks.

But I am not here to shoot others down. To each his own.

You can't compare link exchange or directories with a link in an article from a blog that ranks around 300 on Technorati. And if you can link to your own sites in every article you write then where's the problem?
