Hey, VBSEO looks really helpful, but it's a shame I'm running OvBB. OvBB is actually really cool. Maybe later when I have some spare money, I can purchase a VB license, install VBSEO, and pay my designer friend to port my template over to VB. I may consider a paid poster, but getting posts won't be hard when I have a few members.
damn i seriously wish i came up with an idea like this this type of website seems like it would be hella fun to run dude
Great thread, nice idea. I'm don't know much about the topic of your forum, so I can't provide any help in the discussions there. But I think the red color for the link text is very bad. In my opinion you should go for a dark color. All the best for your endeavour. Will monitor this thread daily
On march 30th, and april 24th, you should add Lord of the rings online Open beta, and LOTRO public release, Respectively. That game kicks ass! I would definitely register and contribute because I am in closed beta right now and am planning on buying it later.
Yeah that is a good idea, I am sure a lot of people will be going place to place looking to sign up for the game, hope they land on your forum!
Why not spending some resources on SEO? It seems like you've got session ids on your forum..that could affect your rankings
That's a fabulous idea! Also, about the link color mentioned earlier..It looks alright, but there are times where I notice it clashing pretty bad. I'll mess around with it later today.
1. Got ranked in google! So the site got ranked in google which is great! The only bad thing is that it's a couple updates old, so it doesn't have the meta keywords or helpful title. Hopefully that will be updated in a couple days. My next step is to gain an Alexa ranking and get a PR. This can be achieved by just posting content, although it won't improve the community. I think after I get alot of content posted and a small PR established I can advertise a little bit with AdCenter and then build up the community. 2. Advertising doesn't work. I've been advertising in games and in chatrooms alot but it doesn't seem to be working too well. I got some green rep on digital point and some toplist votes for my website, so thanks to whoever is helping out that way. 3. Plans I'm going to be adding a Lineage 2 board because I heard I can find alot of content for that game. I will also move the Everquest 2 boards lower down since they don't have anything in them yet. 4. On paid posting.. I'm definitely going to hold off on this until I have gathered all the content I can find myself. Also I haven't pushed my advertising tactics into spammyness yet but I may do it a little bit in the future if things are still harsh. I'd MUCH rather spend my money on starting a contest or advertising. I could always get some kids from campus to post stuff if I was desperate for filler... UPDATE!!! I rank 2nd place for "mmorpg exploit forum" (and plural) on Google! This is basically, exactly what my website is- so it's good that I rank so well for it. I also rank on the 2nd page for "mmorpg exploits", which is my target keyword! If I keep posting content and employing SEO tactics, I can get on the frontpage in not time, regardless of my lack of community.
